I do wonder if Alice's must have privately been worrying a bit after seeing Laurie's struggle with her mobility scooter here. After all, she may be starting to warm towards toleration and acceptance of her size, and Alice is a hefty bit heavier, but at least Laurie has a scooter, with Alice having outgrown her current one. I wonder if a small part of her clogged heart is worrying about knowing that Laurie's current struggles are just Alice's future struggles, and how even now without a scooter, Alice's mobility is somehow even worse!
