Hey guys! I wanted to make sure that all you guys donating at the $5 and higher level got a little something extra to make it worth your while. A friend of mine introduced me to a nifty little program where you can write your own text adventure style games, kinda like Timequest or Zork (if any of you guys remember those!) I thought it would be fun to try and make a game, so I ended up creating a nice short little game that I thought I'd share. It's not very long but it does involve some nice fat drama that I thought you might enjoy! The game is called, simply, Fat Camp, and your goal, as a camper, is to find a secret stash of cupcakes rumored to be hidden on the grounds. The program should let you play the game in any browser, but let me know if you have any trouble! Have fun! :)

2016-05-27 01:30:22 +0000 UTCThat's a tough one! Actually, I think that puzzle is rather unfair, since it requires you to know an old joke about greasing and swimming the English channel...

2015-09-15 21:38:06 +0000 UTCYou should be able to open it in your web browser but if it gives you trouble you could try downloading .quest program at http://textadventures.co.uk/quest/desktop

2015-09-15 18:54:32 +0000 UTCI'm really lost on how to get across this lake -_-

2015-09-15 17:20:08 +0000 UTCSorry, it turns out that there are a few bugs with the game! Try "Ask (character) about (topic)" or "use (object) with (object)." Those commands should hopefully work! :)

2014-09-23 07:15:22 +0000 UTCEnjoyed it so far,. but I am clearly being a moron - I cannot get out of the cabin at the beginning! I can go to all the rooms,. but i can never "use" or "ask" anything.

2014-09-21 09:30:17 +0000 UTCGood feedback, thanks! Next time, I'll try to include more interactions!

2014-08-08 05:03:15 +0000 UTCThought I should give my opinion on the game. It was very fun, and excitingly written, if a little difficult to figure out what to do next at times; but that's probably just me being silly. I would have liked more interactions available with the other corpulent campers, but for the short game it was, Fat Camp was a great bonus!

2014-08-06 16:35:18 +0000 UTCHi Rhys! Thanks for the feedback! This was my first time designing a game, so you can see it's a bit rough. And I was having some issues with the description of Sarah, not sure why it only shows up in the beginning.I'm getting a little more familiar with the software so hopefully future ones will be a little more polished! :)

2014-07-28 01:27:01 +0000 UTCAll in all, it was a good little game - one thing I would give as a critique is that you really have nothing but the introduction post as a means of getting a description of Sarah, and it pretty much ends when she busts out of her shirt and the shorts. In my opinion, it could possibly use a bit more. If you ever need a hand, feel free to ask. I'd be happy to help if I can.

2014-07-27 13:12:57 +0000 UTCHi! It looks like it worked, if you're able to get far enough to see the lake. The lake problem is a bit unfair, I think, a few folks have had trouble with that. To get across the lake, you'll have to swim, but you need to prepare yourself first. Think about what you need to do before swimming the English Channel! :)

2014-07-23 18:08:21 +0000 UTCThanks for the hint - now I'm a lot further through, but having trouble finding the woods - presuming you need to get over to the other side of the lake to get to them, but haven't been able to use the raft, canoe, or Oars, let alone get them out of the shed. Did I miss something?

2014-07-23 11:59:17 +0000 UTCI see - thanks for that, but I found something and couldn't give it to her still. Think my copy might be glitching.

2014-07-23 11:16:46 +0000 UTCHi Rhy! Here's a hint: Missy is looking to only eat healthy food from now on, so you might find her something to help with that :)

2014-07-23 05:55:43 +0000 UTCI've found one little error - I can't find any shorts that fit in-game, and speaking to Missy does nothing at all. Not to mention that I can't go outside because Sarah can't find any shorts that fit her...

2014-07-22 10:41:28 +0000 UTCThat's odd! It should work in any browser, not sure why it's not... Have you tried downloading and opening it from your desktop? That works for me. If not, you also might try downloading the Quest program from http://textadventures.co.uk/quest and using that to play it. That's the program I used to make the game and that seems to work best for playing it. Let me know if either of those solutions work! Sorry for the confusion! :(

2014-07-15 17:57:09 +0000 UTCSorry, but what program should I open it in? Opening it in my browser simply invites me to download it again.
