For the love of god, it's spelled "melee"

2025-09-04 01:57:17 +0000 UTCAhhh... the Hightowers. The embodiment of hypocrisy. In the Dance Era at least. The more modern ones seem to have gotten humbled by the outcome of the dance in canon and were pretty chill from what I can remember.

2025-08-02 21:18:41 +0000 UTCI swear, the Hightowers preach on and on about how pious they are, but this shows they only do so when it’s convenient or when they can benefit from it. Viserys is right that Gwayne brought it on himself when he decided to attack Daeron from behind during a tourney, which is a true sign of cowardice in many people’s eyes. He knew that Daeron was a superior opponent but instead of yielding or trying to avoid him, he decided to go after him like an idiot. If they try to put Daeron on trial, he can call a trial by combat or even a trial by the seven.

2025-08-02 07:35:44 +0000 UTCShe's never canonically wielded a weapon and she's been indeed talking, speicifally to potential allies of the Northern variety. What ya want her to do exactly? Lol

2025-08-01 18:58:51 +0000 UTCI’m honestly surprised that Viserys is the only one looking at this situation logically for once. Jon’s been Knighted and can request a trial by combat if he’s arrested, After the melee, who could match Jon in combat with him defeating Cole and Daemon, the realms best fighters. Even if they are arrested for a matter that by all laws defend Jon and might upset the lords of the realm, if they are proven correct about the Vermithor and Silverwing, what can the royal house do other than incorporate them into the realm. Any attack upon Jon or Dany might mean having enraged dragons burning King’s Landing to the ground, the dragons are unchained and roaming free, attacking their riders would be suicidal.

2025-08-01 17:31:44 +0000 UTCViserys almost called Alicent out on this, he had to restrain himself from saying the truth of the matter. The Hightowers are just biased towards their own, they will use anything to paint Jon and Dany in a bad light even if it’s twisting the truth to their favor.

2025-08-01 17:27:32 +0000 UTCCorrect me if I'm wrong, but didn't you write it as if Hightower tried to get a backstabbing unannounced blow on Jon while he had just got done defending his life from Criston? Everyone keeps spouting about how he took him out ruthlessly and knowing he didn't need to go full throttle. If that's actually how it happened, ya need to go back and edit, if it isn't.. You need to have someone call them out on their bullshit. It's tiring. Otherwise, very fun read.

2025-08-01 16:52:01 +0000 UTCIs Dany just a side character? She seems more like background emotional support all she’s done is dance and talk

2025-08-01 16:18:08 +0000 UTCViserys needs to follow his first instinct. Should he try and punish a man that followed all the rules of engagement simply because his wife has hurt feelings then he proves to thw realm he cares not for justice or the rule of law but is a puppet to his wife and her whims. That's a dangerous position to put himself in.
