At the time, in 2016, this was my favorite piece! However, over time, my love for it faded, since all I could see were errors and constantly thought of better ways of doing things. I wanted to bring this piece back rejuvenated and up to date! The original will still exist, of course, but no longer be printed.
I've gotten a lot less heavy handed with dull and simple lines, though the original was inked in Open Canvas 1.1, which makes it a little harder to get delicate lines. In PSCC, I took the basic brush and set the flow to 45. This helped keep things smooth and detailed.
I've also improved at drawing flowers! I studied a lot over the years between these two!
There were some updates to her outfit, mostly adding more tassels and length to her skirt. I redrew every line of this picture as well, so the lace details are a lot nicer!
The hair was a big issue for me in the old one, looking closely at the shapes and lines were rough. This time I really tried to add some volume and softness, paying attention to weight and movement.
The colors were purposely very light in the original, but I have been creating much more saturated and rich works lately and wanted to update that here!
Lastly, anatomy- I fixed everything here. Hands, feet, back/stomach, and head/face.
I'll definitely get a print order in for this! I made this layout square, by adding some more flowers to help even it out, so it would fit an 6x6 and 8x8 just right. I'd like to do stickers too!
I hope you all like this new piece!
