So, it's been bothering me for a long time- but I had drawn Anna a while back and gee whiz, I have no idea what was happening, but yikes. This was easily my least favorite illustration I've done in recent years (next to the Elsa partner piece...) My art style was in a really weird transitional stage. My eye game was really off and I was taking really odd risks with mouths. This illustration was stiff, awkward, and just plain ugly. I'm being extra harsh on myself because, well, this is what us artists do to our own work- but I'm okay with tearing apart my art if it means I've grown and improved and can correct the things that make me unhappy! Art is a lifelong process, haha!

SO, I had kept the original messy sketch of this and went to town on it the last day and a half and WHEWWWW, I really really like it now! Much better (In my personal opinion of course). I really focused on more folds and movement, loose pieces, character, and warmth. I also un-hid her hand! Nice try, old me. I kept the under sketch this time to make sure the messiness could add the flavor final inks tend to lose. To me, this feels WAY more 'Skirtzzz' and WAY more 'Anna'! I hope you'll agree!!!
