Apple tax question

Im curious to know what Apple offer the validate the Apple tax. You are literally paying between 30% and 40% extra for no reason except to line Apples pockets.
Apple also sees fit to keep hold of the payment for 70 days before releasing it. So they make you pay more and make me wait an unnecessary amount of time just for the hell of it.
If you want to continue paying with Apple that's fine but i really think you should know that there are alternatives that dont charge a 'handling fee'.
Please comment below if im misunderstanding what Apple actually offer for the extra 30% to 40%
