We are all in awe at how big my roomie’s stuffings are! We get a lot of patrons asking how he does it! Well there’s a lot of prep behind the scenes believe it or not. Usually we plan them out a week or so in advance. We go over exactly what he’s eating and how much. And we follow a modified regime some competitive eaters have. 2 days before filming, he fasts, drinking only water and lemon. This helps stretch out his stomach before the stuffing. On the day of shooting, he’s definitely a lot hungrier which helps kick start him. The stuffing itself usually takes about an hour or even 2 sometimes! I make sure he is able to take short breaks in between recording so he doesn’t tap out too early or enter into a sleepy food coma when he still has half of the food uneaten. By the end, he’s totally winded and immediately starts another 2 day recovery cleanse, once again drinking only water and lemon, and eating a lot of greens to restore his energy levels. And I am there to spot and support him to make sure he does it safely. This is why we don’t usually do them weekly, since there is so much physical (and mental) prep that goes into those 10 minute videos. But in the end, he really enjoys them and loves the fact you all enjoy watching them! Slow and steady wins the race!
