Story Post: Poor Man's Fight 7, Chapter 1!

Hi all! IT'S TIME!

...for me to get started on this book, anyway. We're a long way off from publishing. Right now, PMF 7 is this chapter, a few lines of the prologue, some notes in my phone, and ideas in my head. :) I kinda wish I was giving you the prologue first, but I'm fussing with that and this chapter works as a tight stand-alone story with the Dorm Goblins.

All that said: over the last month, for a bunch of reasons, I've also given serious thought to changing plans and writing the next Wandering Monsters book before this one. Those books are much shorter and I have a super clear idea of the next book, so I might tear that one out fast, and there are other incentives... but I've been talking Tanner as my next plan for a bit, and the financial appeal there is real, too. So, we'll see. Just wanted to plant that thought in your mind.

Also, I'm gonna drop another poll question or two re: audiobooks! Please vote, because it really helps me figure out plans!

Hope you enjoy this one!

Honest to God: I never once thought about how I had a deeply-tanned protagonist named TANNER until I was talking to Lee Moyer about replacing the original cover a couple years after the book first released and he said, "Oh, so he's tanner than everyone else?"

> Nicholas kept his eyes on the three guests all leaning away from the door without daring to get out of their seats. Their worried looks told Nicholas this wasn’t a setup. For half a second, I wondered why they might be worried, but then I realized they were probably waiting for everything to catch fire. ;)

"his skin deeply tanned." Much as the rest of his description was good and appreciated, and his mode of entrance gave a strong clue, this was the moment I knew beyond any doubt. It's a neat advantage when you have a protagonist named Tanner (who actually is from an arid world)!! XD That introduction never gets old!
