Story Post: Good Intentions 5, Chapter 8!

This will maybe/probably be the last chapter post before Good Intentions 5 releases into the wild! The book is basically done, except for the endless "maybe give it just one more revision pass" urge I have with literally every book. (Heck, I feel that way about the first in series.) With any luck, I'll have the spoons to work up a short story for next month. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this!
A chunk of this scene (possibly two chunks if I remember correctly) has already been shared as spoilerific posts, but things have gone through significant revision. It may come off as new to you. This chapter was also twice as long before I realized it worked better as two chapters broken up, so... you're getting the shorter, cleaner version. :)
