Good Intentions 5: News and COVER ART!

Hello all!

Yesterday on the Patrons post, I promised an update with big news. I'm including the Supporter tier on this because I feel like the news merits it (though I'm not going "public" because I'm not ready to share with everyone...). Anyway, here it is: THE ROUGH DRAFT OF GOOD INTENTIONS 5 IS COMPLETE!

By “rough” and “complete” I mean the first draft reached “the end” as of April 30. I’ve got a few short scenes/bits to insert, so it’s obviously not finished, but that’s why we call it a rough. The book currently stands at 178.5k words which, um… well, I thought this one would come in short, but those worries were apparently unfounded.

What does this mean? Mainly that I get to go back to the beginning now and hammer & polish this thing into a fully coherent novel. That word count will shrink as I tighten text and cut some redundant scenes, but also grow as I add those last bits, so 178k is a ballpark. As usual, I’m not gonna give a solid release date or projection, because that tends toward disappointment, but revisions are generally the easy part of writing a novel for me.

I have hopes of getting this thing out in the early summer—the earlier, the better—BUT I also have to talk with Audible about the audiobook. Depending on what they offer and request, I may need to hold off on releasing until the audio is ready. That’s not normally in the cards for me, but we’ll see.

ALSO: As noted above, I have cover art to share! PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THIS ANYWHERE ELSE! I want to limit this to the Patreon for now, and tbh I may fuss more with the back-cover text. But you’ll all be happy to see Lee Moyer is back on the case with another awesome portrait of our leading ladies.

And with that, I’m gonna get back to the beginning of this book and make some revision progress today. Everyone take care, and THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for your support!

One thing that just occured to me. DitD could very well serve as a secondary introduction to the GI series (GTS can reasonably be read as a standalone, but it's not really a part of the GI series). GI is a good book, but it has more than its quirks and warts and is clearly a first novel. Something to discuss with your editor?

Love the cover. And man, almost 180k? You're writing a litRPG at this point, haha. Can't wait to read it!
