Orange - Someone kills another as "a crime of passion" or as "justified law enforcement" or as "self-defense". Not planned. Green - Truly supernatural. Involves [redacted] or [redacted] or et al., even to include [not just what you have seen, which has been redacted] but also including people or groups you haven't seen yet but will see eventually. White - Previously suspicious people who have been exonerated. People who are already "white knights" and are above reproach. Change each one as each one changes for you, as the show goes on and more info becomes clear.

Back in the Olden Times, soap operas were really the only episodic story on television - most shows were designed to be shown in any order, and there weren't arcs to follow between shows.
