Oh I also want to clown for a minute. I think we may get true, full on Destiel next week. After talking it all through with someone, they pointed to Misha saying they worried Jensen wouldn't be on board with the idea. Look at what we got in 18. We know Jensen wouldn't have needed to be on board with Castiel saying to Dean what everyone else around the two of them have been saying for years. Now if what they wanted was for Dean to admit, even act on, his feelings for Cas... that's when you'd need to see if Jensen is down with it. Hang on to your clown wigs. That I love you from Cas was the misdirect. The real deal is coming Thursday.

I was Alley and Alley was me when I saw Cas' name on the table. Took me all the way down. Once the montage started I was a full mess of tears. I gave up fighting how sad I felt at it all ending.

During the church scene I really didnt see Michael coming. I thought they might introduce some Christ type character. I was way off lol

David Ingracia III

I chuckled when Alley threatened: "Chuck! I swear to God..."

Forgot to mention that I was mostly engaged in that fight scene, though just noticed that obviously some of the punches weren’t landing, which I chalk up to director/editor poor choice of camera angles and Rob being less skilled at stage fighting. Felt same as you about the ending montage. Expected that out of the final episode, not this one. I am only bummed that they did not include Ash. Why did we not get a shot of Dr. Badass’s mullet? 😞 Adding Cas and Jack names to the table was a sweet touch. I was so annoyed when they added the MW last year, but that made it an easy transition to gladly have Castiel’s name on there, especially.

I DO like that they've kind of set this up as two endings for us. So when we rewatch later we can choose the ending we like. I loved the clip-show at the end of this episode even though I was NOT prepared for it. But this will give us options just in case it does turn out to be bloody next week. (I'm still convinced it'll be a happy ending! I think Jensen's comment was more about how he always wanted to go out in a blaze of glory, so a soft, happy ending would maybe take him a moment to accept. Your idea about seeing them in the future would also leave plenty of room for them to return with a movie or mini-series later on .... ). Anyways, this episode was middling for me, but I am so excited for next week.

There were a lot of moments in the episode that I wanted to actually SEE instead of have told to me later or glossed over... Like Amara and some of the Jack plot. On the other hand, there were plenty of ways to show us that Michael was a 'Daddy's boy' that did not include Mark P or Lucifer. I hated that sooo much. Lucifer has been so overdone on this show .... and considering that previously the Michael-Lucifer showdown was supposed to be this BIG EPIC thing.... this was rather anticlimatic. I know the show has come a long way... but the brothers-killing-brothers things has been a Chuck Theme for a while and this did not satisfy that at all.

Went back and forth on liking this episode, which is typical for one written by Bucklemming. Thank goodness the finale is in Dabb's hands. I liked how they handled Dean breaking the news about Cas. And I liked seeing the boys keep getting back up even when everything looked hopeless. Now, the choreography left a bit to be desired, and the moment was slightly cheapened when we realized the boys still knew they were winning. But still a good moment. .... I have LOTS of questions left about Jack taking over as God though. What happened to all the apocalypse-world people? What happened to Kevin and the others that were sent to hell when they deserved heaven? What's up with Eileen? Are there still monsters? (Did Jack bring back evil people, like rapists and stuff too, or did he conveniently skip over them?) Does Jack have any room to negotiate with the Empty? How's Amara?

Emily

I'm also anticipating a happy/hopeful ending! I'm actually fairly convinced we're going to get a DeanCas ending. I doubt Misha's last credit will be that Lucifer fakeout. And now that Dean is no longer living Chuck's story, he'll realize that his feeling towards Cas are very real (and have been the whole time). I think the finale will focus on Sam and Dean's relationships. <3

I liked it. Was it perfect - no but I still liked it. I was confused because this looked like the ending of the story. I don't have regular tv so I cant watch it the night it airs. I don't get to see a trailer for the next episode. I don't know what they are going to do but I am hoping for a happy ending. I will be devastated if it all goes to shit.

Pho3nixX

chuck pulled lucifer out of the empty and jack didn’t do that with cas it doesn’t make any sense

Anastasia

Bucklemming truly going out as they lived

Agent Squirrels

ngl, its buckleming central with some of the shit they pull this episode so i understand both decisions 😭

Alley Box

It's a buckleming, isn't it? Now I'm torn. I can skip it and keep some of my sanity or I could wait til acceptable drinking hour, crack open some wine and play the buckleming bingo... Decisions decisions...

DB

lol yeah

Alley Box

Did they just attack and dethrone God?

Looking forward to watching this tomorrow. I’ve had the opposite journey, being initially annoyed with a lot of the episode and then feeling better about it on rewatches as I came to accept their version (because what choice do we have), compared to what I would have wanted to happen.

AdoptDontShopPets

lmaooo i forget sometimes when i use God in phrases while watching this show

Alley Box

Did anyone else appreciate the irony of Alley saying "Thank God" when Michael killed Lucifer?

Jason Bullock

think its meant to be the season finale, next episode will be the series finale

Alley Box

This felt like a finale.
