Supernatural Talk || s15e18

edited version is ready first so here y'all go! one hub is working on the full reaction right now :)

and just another warning if it isn't already super obvious: I get very emotional during this episode... most I've ever gotten during a video, and my sad attitude at the end while I give my review doesn't reflect how I view this episode. I am just sad bc of the events that happen, the episode itself is so so great.

and for those new peeps that haven't seen all my spn talks, I am indeed a cas stan and deancas stan. I understand thats not for everyone (im not over the top about it but I do mention it) so if you don't agree with that, pls don't be rude about it :)

hope y'all enjoy :D

I’ve never watched spn & I follow you for buffy, but after seeing half the women I follow online completely flipping out over this episode I had to watch your reaction 😂 good to get some practise at being completely emotionally destroyed before you get to the latter half of Buffy, fair warning lol

I'm aware - but at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Chuck's decided to play fast and loose with the rules. Supposedly he didn't have any power in the Empty, but that was a lie, so who knows what else he's lied about in the 'canon' of the show?

Rue

Billie explained that she became Death because the rules are that the next reaper to die after a Death dies becomes the next Death.

Nebraska

Thanks for the response. The only Supergirl that I've watched was during crossover episodes with the Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.

Kirby

Never mind, lol.

I'm 100% with you on your feels about Cas - I've been watching the show since it started, but ever since Cas came into the picture, the show and everything about it just *felt* so very different. And, tbh, Misha *saved* this show and still does not get the credit he deserves for that, because of his portrayal of Cas - it was what renewed people's waning interest in the show and got people excited about it again. I've seen people complaining that Cas deserves better and honestly, I couldn't disagree more - this is *exactly* how Cas should go out, if he was going to go (personally, I'm convinced he's going to come back in either 19 and/or 20) - on his own terms, speaking the truth of his heart to the man he loves, saving both his son *and* the man he loves, and the entire world (again), ultimately, in one sincere confession. Even though Cas made sure to let Dean know that he's not just a blunt instrument meant for revenge and anger and violence, Cas was also embracing that same truth about himself as well in the same moment. Since the very first thing he ever confessed to Dean (ie. his first tippy-toe step down the path of Disobeying - the ultimate angelic sin) was that he had doubts about his mission and that he wasn't just a 'hammer' for Chuck. So yeah, like - do I think Cas deserved better than to become a fully happy, self-actualized person while saving the man he loves and his family and the world? No. No, I think for Cas it was absolutely perfect. Now all that remains is for Dean to go and rescue his angel from the Empty, just like Cas rescued him once. I feel horrible for Sam losing Eileen as well as having to watch all of his friends from Apocalypseworld and Donna getting Thanos snapped away to wherever, but I've got strong feels that much like Becky, the rest of the group (along with everybody else in the world) are 'away' (wherever that is) until Chuck decides otherwise. Now it's just a matter of figuring out how to get them all back. As far as Jack is concerned, I have a sneaking suspicion he might be the next Death - because by the time they got to the silo, Billie's wound was already festering and she knew she was a goner. So I'm guessing that the cosmos or whatever decided that whatever divine being nearby that could take the job would *get* the job and since Jack is stronger than Cas, that means he's got the gig, now. At least, that's my best guess. Also, lord help us but Buckleming are writing 19. Let's hope Dabb kept an eye on them so they didn't screw things up TOO much. *facepalm*

There's something very similar that occurs on Supergirl between Supergirl and Lena Luthor. Supercorp is their ship name. Lots of subtext, lip biting and longing glances but writers say they are "just friends."

Shaun Stacy

Gotcha. Thanks!

Shaun Stacy

More like the show runners have been queerbaiting the audience for years. Yet I keep watching. Don't ya just love being trolled? What's Supercorp?

Kirby

its up to interpretation. dean never confirms anything, but cas does confess how he feels, and to most we see it as a love confession. so it looks like an unrequited kinda love... idk, very confusing, but Dean has been theorized to be Bi forever, its never been confirmed tho

Alley Box

Soo, I've never actually watched the show, but I see you and a couple of my other favorite reactors losing their shit over this episode. Is Dean actually bisexual? Or is this like a Supercorp deal?

Shaun Stacy

haha legit same. only kept watching after like s8 due to cas. low-key don't really care how the next two episodes go, just hope they're decent haha, I got the ending I was happy with so im all good

Alley Box

Love Dean and Cas, so there shouldn't be a problem from me, lol. They're the only reason that I continue to watch this show.
