I just uploaded an optimized version of v008P - the link is in the "BEWARE voo8 Preview" post. On my rig, I'm getting roughly 20fps more, hopefully you will see a significant performance increase on your end too. This is good news regarding the merging of the old and new maps. I've also learned quite a bit more about optimizing, and pinpointed those elements that are slowing the game down.
As of now, 2/3 of the final map is done! In technical terms, this means 6 out of the planned 9 terrain tiles. If I take into consideration that the 1st tile, the demo terrain, took me 8 months to craft, I'm pretty happy with my progress speed and makes me super confident that I can pull it off by myself (the whole map).
Since June, I'm working on the 7th terrain tile and that one will be quite special - not only visually but also because the road layout will be different every time you enter it. That will be the "semi-procedural" part of the world I was wishing to implement.
So basically my plan is to finish the whole game map first, and then populate it with story, missions, that encompass the whole world. I've always worked like this while creating my animation films - first, creating the universe, then, while absorbing and contemplating it, creating the life inside it.
At the same time, I'll be creating the dangers that are specific to each region, just like I did with the mining dump trucks.

Question: Do you listen to any Black Metal? I only say this cause playing the demo always made me feel like this was "Black Metal: The Game" just based on the aesthetic and tone hahaha. I saw the previous refresh requests answered in an hour or less so was hoping something a bit quicker. It is what it is, but not gonna lie the site being used for releases seems a horrible idea, and the fact is a number of other potential subs from my Discord have walked away after watching me sit and wait..

Say, is there anything on the new map which can be manipulated or triggered (beside the obvious, of course, like the monster trucks)

2020-08-12 21:04:56 +0000 UTCglad to have found beware by accident actually lol.. looks great so far only been two days and gotta say i love it.not going to lie though i like figuring things out omg im so lost lmao i had to you tube to get going and found it helpful.also you should know im new to patrion and the whole beta support thing so that should say something about the game otherwise i would not be here.also i feel im cutting in what others paid more for being i just got here yet have access to v008 so i think im going to up my support some to catch up i hope it helps and hope all goes well.the game kinda grabs ya wont let go lmao just one question does the car a/c or heat work or is it some fog proof windshield? think those accessory lights would put off a cool glow js. just an opinion.
