Here are a few drawings and notes I took while studying how blood's supposed to look! I never quite stopped to study blood consciously, just kinda went with the feeling wherever I painted it, so making this was quite nice. Didn't change too much of what I did before, but learned a few new tricks to stylize it after doing observation.
Basically, I went from dark to light with blood before, but doing those made me realize that going the opposite way works better for me! I often had to make corrections to my pieces with blood because the liquid felt a little too "dead", so now I start off with the saturated light red and build up the darker tones.
Whenever I add more stuff worth sharing about how to paint blood, I'll bring it to you guys! It's a pretty interesting topic of study, but very straightforward. But let's see how it goes as I study it some more ✨
