Dyer's massacre

This comic is inspired by the real and tragic events of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, which took place on April 13, 1919, in Amritsar, Punjab. On that day, thousands of innocent Indian men, women, and children had gathered peacefully in a public garden when British General Reginald Dyer ordered his troops to open fire without warning. The firing continued for ten straight minutes, killing hundreds and wounding countless others, with no way to escape. It remains one of the darkest and most shameful chapters in colonial history.

As someone with Indian ancestry, I hold deep sorrow and respect for all the families who lost loved ones, and for the generations who carried that pain in silence. This comic, while fictional and fantastical in its narrative, is born out of grief, anger, and a desire to remember—not to offend.

If this story hurts any sentiments, I sincerely apologize. My intention is not mockery, but awareness. Sometimes, satire and storytelling can reach people where facts alone do not. I humbly hope this sparks conversations about what happened.

To those who wish to better understand this historical tragedy in a clearer and cinematic way, I highly recommend watching “Kesari 2” — a film that portrays the lead-up and weight of these events with honesty and emotional power.

Let us never forget the blood-soaked soil of Jallianwala Bagh.
Let us never let silence bury the truth.
