1/11 Status Update
Added 2026-01-12 01:24:58 +0000 UTCNetoria 2 continues to buzz away, I can't remember the last time work on a project was going this well. I should be able to have the entirety of the main story of Vasthti Act 2 done this by the end of the month. I already uploaded a new build to the beta server and it could have gone even further except I had a little bit to tighten up in the level after it cut off. Next I'll have to keep working on the sex scenes and finish the game play. I should probably just make the levels and the base mechanics of the act playable and then focus on all the skills after, because those are pretty daunting at the moment.
Every artist is busy doing their thing. Rad Lad just finished a big batch of 23 silhouettes and is about to move onto the rest of the illustrations needed. It's going to be a fun batch, especially if you like pregnancy. Every Vashti Act 2 route involves pregnancy, it made sense because parenthood is such a big theme of hers. And there's already plenty of magical body morphing in it, so might as well magically accelerate those pregnancies as well! I always have trouble with pregnancy in my games because the timelines are often very fixed and the whole affair takes 9 months to play out. It's why it took ages for pregnancy be added to TF Card Battle before I decided I just didn't care about the logic of it. But now I have an excuse to ignore the time factor. Vashti can cum inside Shahrazad, and magically make her eight-months pregnant right after. Why not?

Part of what has made writing the act so fun is whole wildly different in tone all the routes are. The villain route is focused on humiliating Vashti in the worst way possible, the NTR route is focused on Vashti as a manipulative and controlling agent of vengeance, and the Love route is focused on a romantic relationship where she learns to trust others and defeats her demons with the power of trust. And there's also the Djinn one where she becomes a god pretty much. Often when I'm writing scenes that have lots of route variation it can be very tedious because I kind of need to write the same thing over and over just with little differences. Not this time! It's been a blast writing the nice version and then the naughty version right after. But the most fun one to write has been the villain route with Kamaal.

I've been trying hard to make this guy just an absolute scumbag. Like in this tent silhouette scene where he's fucking a villager he just saved in the first level of the act. A lot of the tension requires you to believe that Kamaal really can get with pretty much any woman he wants, so I spend some time early setting that up. Can Vashti save her daughter? Will she give herself up in a bargain to make sure Kamaal stays away from Danya? It's all up to you!
On the Naked Ambition end, now that those grope sprites are done the sprite artist is starting on the second batch of Naked Ambition ending art. As I'm writing the end game crisis events, there have been lots of spots that would look really good with a piece of art but... I'm afraid I kind of have to ration them at this point. In this batch, there's going to be the two Peyton endings, the two Vizier endings, and the Adelin ending. In fact, I've already received this gorgeous sketch for one of those.

Immaculate. This is for the Vizier enthroned ending. The Queen was too busy to give the speech, so the Vizier is filling in for her. What a dutiful servant! Pay no attention to the sucking sounds coming from beneath the podium.
While I'm not unhappy with the writing I've been doing for Naked Ambition, I'm not thrilled with it either. The hiatus has just put on such pressure for the end of the game to be really good. It was always going to be a hard thing to pull off, but the wait just makes it all the more difficult. But, something being hard to do has never stopped me before. Whether I'm successful or not, that's up for the player to decide in the end. I just hope I can do it justice.

Been really enjoying Netoria 2 (played about half the Act 1 routes so far), I think it's a noticeable step up from Netoria 1 in both gameplay and story! That being said I still think the "dialogue censorship" is still awkward even more so given that on a decent number of routes in this game the character getting the censored dialogue knows what is going on for a portion of the story. There's also the awkward interaction of if someone enjoys the mystery/obliviousness of the POV and opens the log it immediately gets revealed, but on the opposite end if you don't want the mystery it is pretty tedious to open the log every time a dialogue pops up. Not sure what the ideal solution is but I have been enjoying the game nonetheless. Keep up the great work!
