12/28 Status Update
Added 2025-12-29 00:52:29 +0000 UTCLast update of the year! I hope everyone had a good holiday season and are ready for the new year. For me 2025 was pretty much all Netoria all the time. 2026 will be defined by Act 2 of Netoria 2 and the completion of Naked Ambition. And then if everything goes to schedule, 2027 will have the full completion of Netoria Tactics 2. And then in 2028 will be something else, who knows. TF Card Battle 2, maybe Futa Oasis reworked and put on Steam, or a new game I haven 't started any work on yet. Either way this train is going to keep chugging along. Thanks to everyone who stuck around this year, and everyone new who's joined along the way. I know it was a bit of a weird one, the publisher thing really ended up jumbling everything around.
I'm sure Netoria Tactics 2 still would have been a success without them, but with them it has been a huge success. I've sold almost 3,000 copies of the game in the month and a half it's been out. For an early access title that should pick up momentum as the game progresses along, that's fantastic. I've been making sure monthly costs have been below my monthly revenue during development, so this has all been profit. Or salary for me, I suppose. I didn't make any money doing Apollo Seven stuff until last year so it's exciting to see this actually become an income stream instead of just a very time intensive hobby. I'd say 2025 was a big success for me and the studio. I and all the people who are supported by the money these games bring in, like all the artists and the publisher, thank you.
Enough about what happened in the past, let's look at the work I'm doing now. This week I've been laying out some levels. I have nine to make by March, which is going to be pretty tough. But I know the general feel and gimmick for most of them. I'm trying to keep them fresh without just making them annoying. Let's take a look at one of these levels in progress:

This is a good example of what I meant when I was talking about levels being different on various POVs. This is Vashti's first level of Act 2. The main gimmick is you have to save the allied unit from a horde of goblins. Other POVs will most likely not have this level, as the main narrative focus revolves around Kamaal. They will probably have early forest themed levels, and those levels might have goblins in them, but they won't have this rescue sequence.
Rad Lad is back from his break, which means I have some scene art to show off again. Right now he's working on camp silhouettes. These look a little different from the past one, that's to reflect the new environment the characters are in. We're done with deserts for now. It's time for forests, snowy mountains, and even a volcano.

The silhouette above is a neutral one between Shahrazad and Zaman, but there are POV specific ones as well. On Vashti POV, Kamaal will get up to plenty of antics behind the scences that you'll get to glimpse through the tent walls. And on Azar POV Safa will have a smorgasbord of different silhouettes of her with the various female party members. And there's also that null route I keep mentioning, that plays out quite a bit through these silhouettes as well...
In terms of art, everything is about gropes right now. Gropes from the character artist, gropes from the sprite artist, and camp silhouettes from the scene artist as seen above, which I think are grope adjacent. I'm a bit worried about the grope sprites disrupting timelines though. I added them during the lull of Netoria 2 development, but I didn't really factor in how they would fit in with Act 2 work. They take a good amount of time, and that's time that's also needed for Naked Ambition and all the icons for skills and such. It's especially a crunch right now since a lot of time had to be spent on Act 2 work that won't need to be repeated. All the unit sprites, lots of generic skills, etc. I'm not sure the Vashti gropes will be ready for her Act 2 launch. But if not, I suppose I can release the content without them and add them back in after the fact.

Oh no! Shah's top fell down! I wonder what made that happen? There's no one else in the grope, maybe it's just some shoddy straps? Hmm...
This is from the last batch of neutral gropes which now only need coloring. After this is the Vashtio POV gropes so expect things to get a lot more explicit. What's the point of Kamaal making Vashit his sex slave if he can't even fuck her ass in the middle of battle? Hopefully by next week Vashti Act 2 content will be up on the beta server, if the level isn't done I'll just have the game skip it so people can at least read the knew scenes and such. I've had some new people join in the $10 tier, and I want to have some actual content for them since the public build caught up to the beta one.
