1/23 Status Update
Added 2025-01-24 23:26:21 +0000 UTCSorry about the lack of an update last week. I've been traveling and lost track of what day of the week it was. By the time I realized it would have been late and I didn't have that much to say anyway. It's just not that interesting a time in development. It's mostly a waiting game for all the moving parts to come together for the full release of Act 1. All the scene art, all the character art, all the sprite art, the splash art, etc. It's all an orchestra of timelines I'm trying to conduct to all get finished in time.
My personal work has mostly been writing. What scenes go where and what should be in those scenes is pretty much all fleshed out. What's not fleshed out is the full scenes themselves with all the dialog and such. A lot of them are starting to be fully formed, but there's still a ways to go. The final two levels also aren't playable yet, although I know how they both work. Speaking of art, let's look at some.

This is the final Act 1 scene on Shah's POV, Azar route. We're past the point of shared scenes, from now on everything is POV specific. So even though this looks like a pretty generic sex scene in terms of art, on the Azar side you won't get this. Also for previews this week, is some act 2 class art.

These are two of the possible classes for Shahrazad in Act 2. So how do the new classes in Act 2 work exactly? Each character has at least four possible classes. Their POV class, a love route class, an NTR route class, and a null route class. If you're on Zaman's POV, Zaman will always be his POV class. Shahrazad, Azar, and Vashti however will have a class that depends on what the outcome of Act 1 was. Shah stuck with Zaman? She becomes the lieutenant class. Switched to Azar? She becomes the sniper class. Ended up with neither? She becomes the harem girl class. In general, the null route has the sexiest classes.
You may be wondering why the POV character gets the fewest options with only one class option. Aren't they the focus? From a practicality standpoint, there's only so many classes a character can have, they need new art and new skills/equipment. Four to five is already a lot for Act 2, and I decided putting the variability in the non-POV classes made more sense. The POV character is getting a unique class anyway, and this way there's variety in the non-POV characters too. On Vashti POV Zaman has three different classes he could possibly be, instead of only one Zaman class and more Vashti ones. Besides if the most important character is always X class, it makes writing easier.
That's all for this week. As always, thank you for your continued support.
