It's a new month, the first month of full on production for Netoria Tactics 2. So let's start it off with a bang and another big preview. This time it's about the biggest new feature of Netoria 2, selectable protagonist POVs.
There is no core main character that the game focuses on, that's up to the player to decide. Whichever of the four party members you pick to be the POV character will be the center of the game's story. The game becomes about them and their experiences. Let's go over exactly what changes with Vashti as an example.

This is Vashti at the start of the game. And I do mean the start, characters are only in this base form for a few minutes. The game starts right as the party steals the magic artifacts that will allow them to connect with their alternate selves, changing their abilities and appearance.
But of the four artifacts they steal, one is damaged. This is what determines the POV character in the story, who uses this defective artifact. The game will give you an overview of what kind of content you can expect on each character's POV, and then you're off to the races. If you pick anyone other than Vashti, she'll continue on with her Sorceress class.

This is her "default" appearance and ability set. Her goal is to convince Zaman to ditch Shahrazad and become her husband. In battle she has skills and abilities that reflect that, pushing you towards placing them near each other and letting Vashti grope him. But if you're on her POV, that all changes.

Instead she'll be a Dervish. As a Dervish her skillset is more oriented to support and healing rather than as a Sorceress. But that's not the most important change...

On her unit card here, underneath Skill she has a stat called "Cruelty". This stat is unique to Vashti as a Dervish. It reflects her inner turmoil to either reject her connection to this life she could have lived, or embrace it. Depending on what actions you do in battle, this stat can go up or down. This determines what happens on her POV specific route.
Each character has their own POV specific routes and content. These are deviations from the base relationship dramas caused by visions they see into these alternate lives.
These visions operate somewhat similarly to the flashbacks in Netoria 1. They're introduced after level three, and from there you can do a series of character specific missions to continue following their story thread. Follow through and you'll unlock completely unique scenes, levels, and outcomes.
POVs also determine who you control during camp scenes. Play with Vashti's POV, and she'll be the one who talks with the rest of the party.
Here Zaman and Shahrazad are a bit preoccupied, so the only one Vashti can talk to is Azar. This also means that each different POV has unique conversations in camp. After all, you can't see talks between Zaman and Azar if you're only controlling Vashti here.
For that you'll have to play as either Zaman or Azar themselves. Like above, where Zaman is the POV character. Some conversations between pairs of characters even change depending on what the POV is. so Vashti-Zaman isn't always the same as Zaman-Vashti.
Even if you only play the game once with only one POV, you'll be able to the whole story play out. But play it again as another character and you'll be able to access different content and gain new perspectives on the characters and their actions.
That's all for this week. As always, thank you for your continued support.
