7/5 Status Update

It's the first week of July, how is development going? Pretty well, actually. I think at this point it's clear the vacation did it's job. I'm feeling much more energized and excited about making games again. It took a while to be sure, especially because I got pretty sick after I got back, but now it seems clear.

The new update is pretty close. I just released the preview last week, but I think I can probably get the test build ready by the next. The scenes are almost fully finished, and the levels are underway.

The first new level has Carwyn taking the guys on first hand. Anyone who's been annoyed at Carwyn never taking direct action against the people harassing Gwen, here's your chance. There's five new levels plus the new epilogue, so it's a fairly big chunk of new content to play. Just a man, his girlfriend, his other girlfriend, and a Kobold stabbing robots to death. Now that's wholesome family fun.

And now it's time for more art of characters you don't know fucking each other. I've already been working on scenes and level content for Netoria 2. Not that much, but a fairly significant amount. This scene is a fairly significant turning point in the Prince and Shahrazad's relationship. In this scene she initiates the sex and controls the pace, signifying her embracing the more carnal aspects of their relationship. If you're playing as the Friend or the Vizier, you really don't want it reaching this point.

And here's the first sketch with another character besides Prince. Friend starts behind in the race, but he can catch up fast. And the first step in that process is kissing Shah.

If you're not playing from the perspective of the character in the scene, you get to oversee and hear snippets of it. It's not as hidden as the scenes on the Gwen exclusive POV in Netoria 1, you get to read the full dialogue and the art isn't darkened. There's also no pretense of characters not knowing what's going on. These four are stuck with each other even if Prince knows Friend is trying to fool around with his girl.

In non-Netoria news... there's not much. Naked Ambition is still stagnant despite me opening the scripts and staring at them sometimes. In theory I should release the Patreon locked At the Mountains of Friendship characters to the public at some point. But it feels kind of weird to have an update that's only that. I want to the big progressions systems update eventually, but it's going to be a lot of work. I'm still pretty discouraged by that game and don't really want to invest a lot of time into it. Netoria is more fun at the moment and focusing on what I find fun and engaging to work on is my focus right now.
