6/30 Status Update

Friday I released the preview build for the Carwyn Triumphant update. Next up is the test build which mainly needs to have all the levels finished for it. If you play the preview build, it just skips over them leading to some very fast, very loose pacing. But that's just a temporary thing to let people get it faster. With Netoria I don't hold back any content from the public, when it's done it goes out. So work in progress stuff is the best Patreon rewards I can give.I think I can definitely get the update out in July at this point. There's still scenes that need to be written and finished but they're starting to get pretty close.

In other Netoria Tactics news, Netoria Tactics: Gold is currently 15% off for the Steam summer sale. If you've been waiting for a bit of a discount here's your chance. The Carwyn Triumphant update will be released for both the Steam and free versions simultaneously, so no need to buy it to see this new content. And if you have bought it, just launch the Steam version after the update is downloaded, there will still be no reason to play the free version over the Gold version. All future updates will continue to be released for both versions at the same time unless I make an actual DLC, which I have no plans for. That's part of why I've called these "expansion content" instead.

Let's look at some of the Netoria 2 art that's coming along:

This is the fully colored version of the art from last week. This batch is for the first six or so levels of the game. Sex scenes happen more often than in the the first game. Instead of drawing out the drama over the entire game, with the emotional climax of actual sex happening 20 levels in, the whole initial arc of NTRing will only take about 10 levels this time. There will still be plenty of sexual content after that point, but it will shift from "stop girl from being stolen" to "try and salvage the situation" or some other form of escalation depending on what the route is. Hopefully this will help keep the game fresh and interesting the whole way through and avoid the bit of a slog the later game Netoria levels became.

Here's another sketch of Prince and Shahrazad. The storyline between them is pretty different than Gwen and Carwyn. They start off the game as a new couple, no "will they won't they". But because they're so new together, there's lots of room for cracks and falters that the two main NTRers, the Friend and the Vizier will look to take advantage of.

With the multiple POV systems, every romance in the game is also an NTR scenario. Playing as either the Prince or Shahrazad each new sex scene shows the deepening of their relationship. For the two scenes above, it goes from the Prince pleasuring Shah to her returning the favor. But if you're playing as the Friend, these scenes are instead Shah's decent into pleasure as she gets further and further "corrupted" by the Prince. Vanilla romance, netorare, netori, it all depends on the perspective of the person viewing it.

That's what I'm most excited about writing in Netoria Tactics 2, how the same scene from a different character's POV can have completely different emotions. None of the four main characters are the true protagonist, the hero of the can be any of the four you choose. And any of them can experience the NTR of losing their lover/the one they're pursuing, or they can emerge victorious with their prize.
