Plans for October-November!
Added 2020-10-20 02:36:32 +0000 UTCHey everybody! I did that thing where I forgot to post updates here when I posted videos on YouTube, so long time no see! The last month or so has been a weird spot content-wise thanks to a number of things, so I'll briefly run over those:
- Hectic life schedule! I've mentioned this a bit on a few different places on the web, but yeah, I'm in double-full-time mode between work and school right now, leaving me with essentially one content day at best - conveniently my only day off. So usually I end up vegetating on that day and then crunching on a video that pops up last-minute, like when I got a chance to cover Crash 4's demo when I wasn't planning on making a video that week, or Kirby when it shadow dropped and I wasn't planning on making a video that week...or Crash 4 when I received a code a day before release and I wasn't planning on making a video that week. So the last month has essentially been "filler videos." I was even considering dumping out a Streets of Kamurcho review instead of taking the week off of uploading like I said I'd do for the fifth week in a row, but then I fell asleep so this time I actually meant it. This is all because...
- Ratchet video struggles! This Up Your Arsenal video has been a bit of a thorn in my side, as much as I love the game. Though really, since Metroid, most videos have been thorns in my sides for one reason or another. One of the Patron-suggested topics I had to bail on because after a month of just having Spongebob "The" on the paper I couldn't make it work in my style; another topic kept getting moved around and moved back; and with UYA I know exactly what I want to say but not the order in which I want to say it. So every week I say "this is the week I nail this video!" And every week I put it off because of analysis paralysis. That's a bit new for me, usually I can separate from the topic and just go, but this one will take a bit more time to roll I suppose. If all goes well, it lands before the PS5.
- The end of PLUSone! This really didn't make anything "weird," it's more the result of the other oddities above. I finally decided to pull the plug on PLUSone a few months earlier than I'd initially planned at the start of 2020 (although that could still possibly change). As of right now I have zero interest in doing another PLUSone - considering that the most recent one is my worst performing video of 2020, I think I got out at a good time - but maybe I'll come around and do one for Plus Collection if I'm insane.
So because of these issues, yeah, it's been a weird month for me! I've got one really good video in the works thanks to editing help from MykonosChris, and I'm actually stoked with how it's gonna turn out. Next week if all goes well, I'll have my big Majora's Mask docuproject out - but I don't think all will go well so I'm taking more of a "when it's out it's out" mentality for now. Sometime after that but hopefully before the PS5, Ratchet UYA will finally hit. And then once the PS5 hits, I have plans to do a full blowout of PS5 content that will hopefully be the spark that brings the channel over 20,000 subscribers by the end of 2020! Tentatively I plan on reviewing Miles Morales asap, another game (probably Sackboy's Big Adventure) a few days later, a proper PS5 review of some sort if I can manage it, and maybe one or two more reviews in the first two weeks of the system's life. So, if you've got a preference for which PS5 game you want me to cover early, let me know in a reply here or on Discord! Your input very likely will be the deciding factor when I end up stuck between two choices!
So that's about everything I've got in the pipe right now. I've got a bunch of other ideas for videos as always, but not enough time to crank them out. I also have a bunch of Patron videos to make at the suggestion of Golden Bolt-tier backers, which I'm hoping to crank out the moment I don't have classwork eating up so much of my time. Thanks so much for your understanding as I keep throwing out videos or missing deadlines, or a combination of both, thanks to that lack of time. I know you folks never mind and that's what makes you so awesome, but I always feel bad anyway. Much love!
