1/5 Status Update

Last week I posted a poll about a possible Netoria Tactics sequel.  Based on the response people seem pretty excited about the prospect. I've been putting off starting pre-production in full for my next game because Naked Ambition is going so slowly. In theory, the next game would come out right when Naked Ambition ends. If I started work on it only when I was almost done, it would take six plus months between the end of one game and the launch of another. So will that next game be put into pre-production be Netoria Tactics 2? Maybe!

As for what people said in the poll, about 2/3 of people voted for more gender bending, and pretty close to the same amount asked for similar mechanics. New characters got lots of votes too, with old characters getting very few. So it seems people want a game with similar mechanics, new characters, and better supported/integrated TF content. That's a good baseline to start with. There's two ways I could do this, use a new engine, or stick with SRPG Studio. With a new engine, the game would be, well, better. Because SRPG Studio isn't great. But a lot more time and effort would need to be dedicated towards creating the code and ironing out bugs in said new engine. With SRPG Studio I already have all the adjustments and changes I made for the first game. It'd be a much faster process just making more content in that engine.

But enough about games I might make, let's talk about what I'm already making. While we're on Netoria Tactics, I've pretty much solidified what new content is going to be in the Steam version. I've hired artists on for 6 bonus scenes, with maybe a 7th coming. Besides that there will be lots of enhanced art and some other minor goodies. Like extra weapons and items that have fun effects only available in the Steam version.

As an example of the enhanced art, currently the final NTR scene between Gwen and Owain/Mordrid/Emrys uses the same piece of art for all of them. With the Steam version there will now be a different piece of art for all of them.

I don't have a release date for the Steam version yet, there' s a lot of artists working on it and they're all on slightly different timelines. But the plan is to release it shortly after the female Carwyn enhancement update I'm working on. February seems most likely.

So what's coming out this month? First is Futa Oasis which.... wait, Futa Oasis? That's right! I've got all the endings basically finished. I think it'll be ready for next week. With this update the game will be "done". The game could be a lot better if I did a whole bunch of work and reworked a whole bunch of stuff. The random conversations need to go, the card game needs to be majorly overhauled, the game has a lot of problems. But having that hanging over my head is kind of stressful so I'm releasing the endings and putting a complete tag on it. All the scenes will be in the game, you'll be able to play it until the end. It'll be done, for now.

These endings aren't sex scenes, although there is nudity in some of them. They're short epilogues that tell you what happened to the player and they're partner. There are 15 endings total, two per romanceable character and some neutral ones. These range from exploring the world with Yasmin, to preaching the world of the Holy Phallus with Azra, to going back home to New York, to selling out Nayamvaha for profit. I've left the ability to put off the endings in so if you reach 30 days and don't want the game to end yet you can put it off as long as you want.

Lastly, there's At the Mountains of Friendship. 1.2 is almost done. I already put out the call for voice actors, the scenes are all written and the gameplay is going through final changes. My goal date to release it is the 19th. When it comes out all the new mechanics and items and such will be available for everyone, Avery (that's BFF's actual name by the way) will be available for $10 patrons, and Lydia and Sarah will be kicked down a tier. And then it's straight on to Girl 14 who doesn't have a codename yet, but I've narrowed it down to essentially two different mechanics.

That's all for this week. As always, thank you for your continued support.
