9/9 Status Update
Added 2023-09-09 10:23:10 +0000 UTCSorry for the lack of an update last week, I've been on vacation and lost track of time. But despite that, a good amount of progress has been made. The Netoria epilogues are underway, with the new art commissioned and some writing getting done. At the Mountains of Friendship has gotten some playtesting feedback including some important feedback and the last piece of art needed for that is underway.
Lately I haven't been having all that much fun making these games to be honest. Hopefully it's just pressure from the new big game coming out so soon. There's so much stuff to do that it feels like I never make progress. I've pushed through plenty of rough patches before, though.
It does kind of feel like juggling so many games is catching up to me, so scaling back what I have to work on is a priority. But that should be accomplished fairly soon. AtMoF going public means that it'll be more obvious from the outside where my time ia going, and the epilogues coming out for Netoria means I can spend more time on Naked Ambition, finish that, and get it off the slate.
I also haven't gotten to do anything new in a while, it's all been execution and not ideation as of late. All three projects I'm working on are at the very end, either getting the endings made or being crunched out to their first release as a full game. I think that might be a big part of why it's beem a bit of a slog. Creating new games is really fun, you get to slap together all kinds of new stuff, put together the design and come up with new characters, lots of ideation and iteration. Of course, you have to pay for that fun later by actually finishing the game.
I don't want this update to sound like I'm complaining about things. I'm happy to have a big audience that enjoys what I make. I just like to be honest on here so if I'm in a little bit of a rough patch I don't want it to be a secret. I think that once AtMoF is out, I'll have a lot more energy and enthusiasm for stuff. Hopefully from all the people praising it, haha. It's very nerve-wracking being this close to a release date like this, all I can do is put in the work and hope people like it.
That's all for this week. Hopefully by the next I'll have some new Netoria epilogue art to show you! As always, thank you for your continued support.
