9/17 Status Update

A Futa Oasis came out yesterday, the next one will be in 3 weeks because the 1st Friday of October isn't until the sixth. That update will be the second set of threesome scenes. That's really all I have to say about the game right now, since you know, an update just came out. Not a lot of work has been done in it since yesterday. Here's some cool art though.



Right now my main focus is on The Monster Within, which technically isn't an Apollo Seven project, but if I work on that there's less time to to work on other stuff. And I really need to work on that right now. But after October it's done! Can you believe that? A game being done? What a crazy concept, but that'll free up a lot of time.

Time that will be spent on Clothed Ambition (the SFW conversion of Naked Ambtion). I have a few major ideas for it right now. Overall, I want to make it less of a roguelike, and more of a focused narrative experience. Rather than having lots of different stuff that can happen, the game will be about a more linear set of events, but more variety within those events.

Instead of "do you have x color" checks, there will be "what color did you draw the most of" checks. The idea being that things will play out differently based on what kind of personality the Princess has instead of having a failure state. No failures, just different outcomes, that's the motto of this new version. This will mean a lot more writing per event, which is part of the reason the number of events would need to be paired down.

This would also go along with making the game generally "easier". Naked Ambition really isn't difficult, but it has a lot of points where it FEELS difficult because of how the system works. Not passing checks, not winning over council members, these all feel like failing even though they really aren't. I want more of a feeling of "damnit Princess, that's not what I wanted you to do!" And less "damnit Princess, you didn't pass that check!"

My overall goal is for replays of the game to show how different decisions and a different personality for the Princess changes events and such. For that reason I'm planning on beating the game on your first try to be much easier. Not getting on the throne is as valid an outcome as winning it, but that's not obvious to first time players. I think that on subsequent play throughs realizing "wait, this time I should try NOT to make her queen" would be more fun overall.

If these changes don't sound like they're up your alley, I say give them a chance and see how they feel. And you can always play Naked Ambition instead. Plus in that version the Princess takes her top off a lot, that's a plus. If you have any suggestions for the new version, let me know.

Also here's some more Netoria sketches, This time for the rival to the FMC, who tries to steal the MMC away from her. And then she in turn can be stolen by someone else and such. Just a big web of people cheating on each other either emotionally or physically.

The mechanics and writing are pretty far along. The art needs a lot of time though. So some kind of test build lacking art will be fairly soon. First public release is a few months off at least.
