5/21 Status Update

This week I finished almost all of the council member scenes. That means I just have the random events to finish up, then the Princess-PC conversations, and then .7 is ready to go. While it's possible I'll get that done before the end of the month, I think early June is more likely.

The thing I definitely am delivering this month is a preview build of the mermaid game, which I'm now calling Dream of the Sea.  So that'll be a fun bonus. That takes me back to September last year when I wanted to make another small side game. That side game ended up being the main thing I want to talk about this week.

I am tentatively calling the upcoming futa game Futa Oasis. It's a bit simpler and more on the nose than the names I usually choose, but I feel it fits. I've been plugging away at this one or a while now and recently development has really started to come together. So what is Futa Oasis?

Futa Oasis takes place in the early 1930's. You play as Sam, a down on his luck man who goes off exploring to find the mythical city of Nayamvaha in search of fortune and riches. Luckily, or unluckily, he finds it. There's no riches to be found, but there's something even more precious, an abundance of futas to romance and fuck or be fucked by. But all's not well as the villagers of Nayamvaha hold keeping their village's location a secret of utmost importance. Sam must earn their trust or be stuck in the village for the rest of his days.

Futa Oasis has two major components to its gameplay. One is a card game you play to earn the trust of the villagers and the other is a visual novel where you talk to those villagers to romance them. Getting close to the villagers provides new cards and bonuses for the cardgame, so if Sam wants o leave he'll have to to get to know them and form relationships.

There are five different romanceable characters in Futa Oasis. Three futas, one woman, and one trans woman. You talk to them through randomized vignettes, so every playthrough what conversations you have will be different, or at least in different orders. Each relationship has a dominant and submissive variant, so the player can tailor who's on top to their preferences.
