Hey guys,

I just wanna talk about Marie a little. And what Rise of Adam represents.

When I first did the Marie book, it looked like a pretty simple premise. Step Nephew with hot aunt. Magical game. Done.

But I had more in mind. In fact, everything is in the attic scene, where Lucas discovers all the "junk" that's hauled up there. It was just a fraction of how big Marie's world is. She was not always a stay at home... consultant. She used to be an adventurer. She was considered the best one. As I was doing the first comic with the game board, seeds were planted for the next story. Not just that, but when Lucas reveals his feelings to her, part of me was saying this to the character. I love her dearly and want to show how awesome she is.

Rise of Adam is my Avengers Infinity War of the Northverse. What I mean by that is that I want to bring everything together here. Show the connections. It's very ambitious. There's already a character introduced in another comic I did that is indirectly linked to Adam (that you will learn more about in this chapter). In fact, I've just written the pages where Adam and Lucas talk. It's been in my head since FOREVER. Oddly enough, the conclusion of the story has been in my head for a while.

I also needed a great, scummy villain for this story. Tyler King has barely revealed his part yet. I've had comments about the Shark Man... Do not worry. This will not become an odd monster men comic. But Marie's world is vast and weird.

Jungle Jackson, Mighty Honey, Summer O'Neil, Brandy, Jenna... So much fun stuff. Oh, and Claude. You haven't met Claude yet. but you will.

These things could never be done in a movie or animation.
