(Finished) Which Diane model is better (Poll)
Added 2025-05-03 18:47:54 +0000 UTCI've wanted to do a few things with Diane but I'm undecided on which model would best suit her.
Option A is more faithful to Diane's original design and requires a complete reconstruction of her mouth to fit what I want to do. The rig it has is good but I don't know if it will break due to the amount of customization it has, still, it's worth experimenting.
Option B is the model I used previously, it is very outdated and needs a complete Rig rebuild. It was the first model I edited in Blender and it has many bugs.
I like both but I would like to know which of the two you would like to see in future projects.
P.S. The render is something quick I did, I could have done it better but it's just for illustrative purposes.
update:
I updated the order of the image and text to make it clearer.

Yes, that’s what I try to do — preserve the original rig’s functionality as much as possible. I create the mouth textures using a different material so they don’t interfere with the originals. There may be a better way, but this is what has worked best for me so far.

2025-05-03 19:54:08 +0000 UTCBradley's model rig is actually very sturdy, should pull through for what you want. A friend of mine uses it quite often and it's his choice for that reason. Alternatively, you could look into Yuneth Alwis' Diane Foxington. It's the most movie accurate version, although his rig is more complex and difficult. You could always just re-rig it yourself, and the model is free for all so you don't have to spend more. A prime example is the stuff that Foxidro achieved (may he rest in peace): https://e621.net/posts?tags=foxidro

2025-05-03 19:45:51 +0000 UTCI’d say option A From a visual standpoint, not only is it more true to the original, it comes off with a much clear silhouette, namely with the fur, as option B presents as more messy in appearance. On the technical side, I can imagine the mouth wouldn’t be a huge issue to rebuild, as you could isolate the textures onto a dedicated material so they don’t interfere with the existing external material. As for the rig, it may be best to preserve as much of the original functionality that you find useful, while implementing your own additions, if possible. Provided you can understand what systems do what, I’d say option A is the obvious choice
