and yes....they definitely are more famous in korea vs internationally but I'd say that's just a function of when they debuted (2014 so they're on their 10th year), their particular style of music (they are the dream fairy concept masters which didn't travel as well as girl crush groups internationally), and their company (WM Entertainment....while not a tiny company, definitely doesn't have the money that big 3/4 companies have). Their popularity kind of exploded after their appearance on Queendom Season 1 and while they technically didn't win it, they kind of actually won it. They had the most memorable performances and Nonstop/Dun Dun Dance/Dolphin were their next 3 songs which were insanely popular. Had covid not happened and they could actually tour, Im sure their international popularity would've been larger (and yes, in my personal opinion Queendom S1 was the best of the Queendom/Kingdom series just bc it was the first, it seemed the most communal, MNET really didn't do the whole evil edting they did in subsequent seasons and the performances were top notch-especially OMGs. Theyre known as concept queens and its totally from Queendom so I'd highly rec watching it) You probably recognize Hyojung and Seunghee just from korean variety here and there. the 2 of them have been EVERYWHERE on TV and the group as a whole are a pretty top tier K Entertainment/variety group (ESPECIALLY Seunghee)

2024-09-04 07:19:02 +0000 UTCso the members: Red hair: Hyojung the leader and oldest and main vocalist wearing the handkerchief on her head in the beginning: YooA the main dancer and vocalist straight black hair that looks like a mini Suzy: Arin, main visual and vocalist the rapper: Mimi, a vocalist as well tiny auburn hair: Seunghee and main vocalist blonde: Yubin (formerly Binnie): vocalist I am half joking in my descriptions bc THEY ALL can sing amazingly. Hyojung and Seunghee are the power belters (Seunghee sings a little more head voice and adlibs more whereas hyojung sings more chest voice and is a little more powerful and stable), YooA has the totally unique vocal tone that sounds kind of brassy/honey/sort of similar to Seulgi, Arin has the lightest airiest voice, Mimi also has an airy tone and prob has the youngest sounding voice but is the rapper, Yubin is the sort of jack of all trades (can sing the lowest, has the most grit in her voice)
