Mid (...post?) video update - yandere edition

It's way past time for the mid-video update, which... yeah, I got carried away with just editing after the weekend and spaced out on actually doing the update. Sorry about that. But I don't have much to update on that wasn't mentioned in the video, other than that I am again incredibly thankful for the $1.5k/mo mark being hit!!
Like I said there, it is... very, very nice that I can make this my main job, and I don't have to stress as much about money. And plus, it's a fun job that I'm happy you all enjoy so much. There's already been wonderful comments on this video, and I'm really glad for that. I have to wonder what the broader reaction will be, given the directions it goes...
Anywho - game updates!
November: Since CC and Parfait combined have both been... very heavy on my consciousness and mental health (in a good way), I'm going to aim for something easier for next month and in December. For November, it's probably going to be Suki Suki Daisuki - a shorter title that I've been requested to do a couple times, and has clout as 'the yandere game.' Failing that, maybe Dasaku because trans ero guro? We'll see!
December: Sex... 2. *drops mic*
January/February: The goal is to be working on White Album 2 during these two other videos, at least Sex 2, and to have that out in Jan or Feb. If I can't get it done for January, then I'll likely cover Tenshi no Inai 12-gatsu in the interim.

Have you covered an otome game on the channel yet? I think it would be a very interesting VN genre to cover, especially because of how many are starting to get localized. I highly recommend Jack Jeanne, it's beautiful in both art and writing! It follows the protag Kisa wanting to attend a famous stage acting school, but they only admit guys who both play the roles of Jacks (men) and Jeannes (women). Kisa conceals their identity as AFAB, and attends. I can't say too much without spoiling, but there are a lot of queer themes (and scenes) in the game. Kisa can be read as non-binary; and the story shows their struggles with being limited to and by the gender they were assigned at birth. The passion Kisa has for wanting to be an actor is so touching. Also, all the love interests have really compelling stories, personal favorite being Neiji (what a crazy route). Legit, it is one of my favorite, if not favorite VNs. Also kinda crazy, the art was made by the author of Tokyo Ghoul, and the writing by both him and his sister.

2023-10-09 22:26:44 +0000 UTChave you ever heard of charon (game dev)? fun time for trashy yandere content enjoyers (most of my enjoyment comes from nostalgia but good god these games tackle heavy subject matter with the delicacy of a truck hitting a brick wall) they had alot of stuff some time ago (2010s) but most of the eng hype died and im dying to know if their more recent games got better (not in a mean way just in a "itd be fun to see this artists evolution" way). honestly i think if anyone did an intelectual tackle on any of their stuff id be over the moon.

I'm stalled half way through that one myself, but I'd be curious to see what you'd have to say on it - its a game that (excuse the bad guro joke) really wears it's heart on it's sleeve. Not sure if *I* have anything more to suggest, although I second the Forest suggestion. Everything you have planned looks really fun and interesting!

2023-10-05 09:25:51 +0000 UTCoh god euphoria is on there LOL i'm glad you're going to look at it eventually, its...something alright. for other game suggestions, school days and dramamatical murder come to mind. i'd also be interested in a muvluv video personally. it's not quite a vn, and lots of people have covered it but i think your expertise on denpa and otaku/internet culture could make for a unique perspective on needy streamer overload.

I'll just also suggest Game S.S.D.S., Aoi Umi no Tristia, Aoi Sora no Neosphere, Akatsuki no Amaneka to Aoi Kyojin, Shirogane no Cal to Soukuu no Joou, Tactics Brid, Angel Beats! - 1st Beat, the Utawarerumono series, and the Baldr series (especially Baldr Force). I want to know more about them and/or hear your thoughts on them.

I recently went through the list of works that Kusaka Matsuri worked on, and I noticed that she wrote the scenario for a BL horror game called "Shingakkou -Noli me tangere-" that is set in a Christian boarding school. Would there be interest in covering this?

Not because it's without its flaws... but because I think there's so much that can be said about it, both about being a creative and about complicated and messy friendships. Also has some... choices which make me go ???

It's one of my absolute favourite VNs of all time and its commentary on eroge tropes (and otaku depictions of women and relationships in general) is something I think you might vibe with!
