Mid-video update - denpa waves edition

It's that time again for another update, and this time... I guess things are actually getting back to my intended schedule? Turns out that having a private, quiet place to work with very few distractions means I can work at a reasonably fast pace. Huh. As it stands I don't really intend to make more than one video a month still - I feel that's a reasonable pace for how long and detailed each release is - but hopefully I run into less delays and snags in the process now!
As always, a thank you to everyone who continues to support these videos - though the Parfait one hasn't been as successful in terms of raw views as my last few, it's still been doing well enough and y'all have been saying wonderful things about it, so I'm happy! It's definitely making me want to cover more Maruto Fumiaki titles in the future, especially since I'm still getting quite a few requests for them.
Speaking of requests... games update time!
Shizuku: I figure everyone knows this is the game for this month already since the script is already up, but, yes, I'm finally talking about Shizuku! It's sadly not nearly as positive of a video as I was hoping it would be, but I still think it's interesting with a lot to say about the game, beyond the usual "omg it's the first denpa!' that tends to get written about it. Game is finished, script is done (and updated with better TLs and citations if you haven't read it yet!), and is currently in video editing. I'm hoping I can have it done within the next two weeks.
October/November: The, very rough outline of what I want to do for these months, is to cover Cross Channel and Sex 2. Yes, those games have nothing to do with each other, BUT I HAVE MY REASONS. There's a decent chance I'll be out of the country during one of those two months, and I'm not entirely sure which. It's more likely to be November though, so my current plan is to do a video on CC for October (assuming I'm at a good enough JP reading level to not take a century to finish it), and Sex 2 for November since even with my wild ass scope for the vid, it shouldn't be too hard. I did kind of want to make it a big christmas special because it's the funny haha game, but I also want to not have to think much about work while I'm out of country.
December or January: No guarantees, but I want to try and cover White Album 2. It feels very appropriate for the season, I'm interested in Maruto's writing, and it's also a game I've had tons of people ask me about. As is... probably obvious by my inability to stick to things, plans are liable to change, but I really want to shoot for this. Just not sure if the length and density of it means I'll have to do a shorter project for December to give myself more time to play and write.

seconding katawa shoujo, some others i would like to see are euphoria and saya no uta because i'm really not a fan of saya even though everyone seems to love it and i frankly have no idea what to make of euphoria (watched a video on it some time ago, but i didn't agree with a lot of the points op made and honestly he gave me some...not so good vibes). since you've covered lots of denpa games on here and corpse party is on the list, i'd like to see your thoughts on needy streamer overload as well. it's a fairly short game too, if you find yourself strapped for time.

2023-09-02 06:13:34 +0000 UTCi think it could be interesting to hear you talk about i/o. i believe it's the oldest vn i've read, and now that i think about it the only japanese vn i've ever read, that has a trans man in it. for a vn from 2006 it was surprising for me to see. also cyberpunk stuff is fun

I think you’d like SNOW in particular as it’s similar to Kanon vibe wise. The other two are pretty interesting and not much about them in English. Hope you’ve been doing well and keep up the great work!!
