Mid video update and Q&A - I Have A Plan This Time Edition (October Edition)

This month, we're getting a bit more back on track with the review production schedule. Not perfect maybe, but I'm at least making big steps towards it; I got things figured out with my new setup (MacBook + gaming PC), I have some things concretely planned, and I have... not as much time as I'd want to do stuff, but there should hopefully be no nearly 2 week delays this time!
Onto updates!
16-Bit Sensation: A modern manga about eroge, visual novel, and Japanese computer gaming history viewed through the lens of a fictional company with very real struggles. It's funny, it's cute, it's immensely interesting, and I have a crap ton to say about it. Script is started, hopefully editing isn't too hard.
Gore Screaming Show: Video planned for December. It's FINALLY getting localized and I'll be getting a review copy. Really all I know is it's got some spooky shit, themes of trauma, a very talented female writer and artist leading the game, and some incredible characters.
Rance & AliceSoft series: I have FINALLY finished Rance 03!! And 4! And the 4.x games! Currently working through Toushin Toshi II, which means we are... I think 8/11 games through the point I need to make videos. Yippe!
Other projects: YU-NO will be next year. PC-98 Magical Girl stuff is still on the pipeline. 3DO is still on the backburner. Isaku will wait until I've played the other Saku games. If you have any early 2000s/90s RPG Maker suggestions or short (sub-20 hour) VNs before 2003, pelase let me know!
As always, please feel free to leave questions for me to answer in the next Patreon segment below! And until next time, see y'all later! \(≧▽≦)/

Out of pure curiosity, what is the worst visual novel that you played recently? Also, if you haven't played it already, Peret Em Heru is a really interesting late 90s RPGMaker game that has really cool Egyptian horror vibes. Very different from a lot of other RPGMaker horror, and it really stands out even among greats like Ao Oni. Anywho, continue the great work!

2022-11-10 22:25:35 +0000 UTCDo you know of any artists that make art today that is similar to the art made with the constraints of the PC-98 (and similar computers)? I'm looking to hire commissions but also I just wanna see more art in this style than just the stuff from your videos

2022-10-28 13:50:43 +0000 UTCI sent like a whole infodump as a private message, but just in case, I'd really like to see coverage of Corpse-Party for the PC-98! It's very short (an hour and a half for a blind run, and *maybe* 5/6 hours to get every ending) and the atmosphere holds up surprisingly well. In English, there's little coverage of the original game and its impact, but it seems like there's lots of information out there in Japanese. Maybe it could work as a short filler project if needed.
