Mid-video update (July edition)
Added 2022-06-25 19:37:30 +0000 UTCHello all! It's time for another video update. First, thanks everyone for watching and sharing the Ayayo video - the it's reached over 2k views, and even the Doukyuusei and Pia Carrot vids have reached over 3k!!! I'm so happy ;______;
But! Let's get to the updates~
Necronomicon: This video is the current focus and will come out in July -- taking a look at an untranslated Lovecraft horror VN by Fairytale in 1994, and it's... pretty good, but also sort of weird? Playthrough is almost complete, scripting is started.
Rance series & AliceSoft: I've finished Rance 1 and 01 and have a LOT to say about them, mostly 01. Going to work on completing the games in release order up through Rance VI as that one is supposedly one of the heaviest in terms of politics and themes and says a lot about the series as a whole that may color some of my opinions differently. My goal right now is to try and put out some less intensive videos as I work on this.
Posessioner: You've probably seen this gif (SFW) going around a few times if you're into PC-98 games. It's short, it's gay, it's cyberpunk, and even if it ends up being not great, I think it's a game so many people are curious about that I'm kinda inclined to talk about it since it also seems to be readable for me. If all goes well, it'll be the video after Necronomicon.
More elf shenanigans: Isaku video is absolutely happening in either November or January, maybe earlier. I finished it and it's one of my favorite visual novels ever, and just a bit above my reading level - I am VERY eager to share it with everyone, and very much hoping it gets a translation some day!
YU-NO: Same as before, shooting for a big video in December. I started playing Desire and it's... pretty average, but I wanna be informed on Kanno's works before diving into YU-NO, so I'll keep at it. Eventually there'll be a big video on his works before YU-NO.
Baldr Force: On the backburner for now. Unsure of the quality of the translation and if it'd be better to try and read it in Japanese, which would take quite a while since it's 35 hours long.
If you have any suggestions for PC98 games for me to create videos on, please let me know and I'll take a look at them -- I'd be happy to discuss interesting untranslated games! Until then, see y'all in July!
