I Can See Parameters In A Rom-Com World! Chapter 29: Unexpected Invitation

Junichi had finished writing 10,000 words for his novel, he didn’t write more than that, since he still has a business to do, it’s to call Tsukahara Hibiki, tonight, like he said he’ll never forget calling her, so he shall disturb her for tonight.

He took his new phone and put the number that Hibiki gave him, after that he immediately dialed that number, a moment later the phone started ringing, then the other person accepted his call.

“H-hello? Junichi?” A clear and soft voice was heard from his phone.

“Yeah, it’s me senpai. How did you know that it’s me?” 

Though, he knew he wanted to know how she would reply.

“I-it’s because you’re the only one who knows my number aside from my family….”

On the other side of the phone, Hibiki was embarrassed, it was just a shame that Junichi couldn’t see it personally.

“S-so why have you called?” Hibiki added.

“Do I need a reason to do that?” He answered with a teasing tone.

“O-of course! You can’t just call me for no reason!” 

He could hear her embarrassed voice, he couldn’t help but smile a little, then he replied.

“Alright then if it’s a reason to call you, I’ll give you one it’s because I want to call you, is that enough?” 

“.....” 

Even though he couldn’t hear her saying anything, he could imagine her covering her face while blushing.

“Are you still there? Hello?”

A moment later, he got an answer from her. 

“Y-yeah...are you not ashamed of saying those words?”

He heard a fake irritated tone from her.

“And why would I be ashamed? I’m telling the truth.”

“I hate you.”

Having no words to say, she just said that without thinking. Junichi is pretty much aware that she doesn’t hate him, that’s because her tone doesn’t match her words at all, instead of hostility, what he heard was an embarrassment.

“Oh...that’s really…” Junichi acted hurt, he wasn’t really expecting her to fall for it because it was too obvious, however, he never expected her to fall for it.

“A-ah! No, no I was just joking about it! I-i don’t hate you okay?!” 

There was a hint of panic in her tone, Junichi thought. ‘Seriously? Did she really fall for my cheap act?’

“No, I was just acting, it wasn't anything serious, did you think that I’d be down after that? I’m not that weak.” Just because a girl says she hates you, it doesn’t mean it’s over, he knows this because of his experience in his past life.

“I-i see…” 

He could hear the relief in her voice, he thought. ‘Who would have thought she’s this emotional?”

“Anyway, is there anything you want to talk about?”  He said.

“W-what about you?”

“About me?”

“Yeah!”

“I just want to hear your voice, it’s enough for me.” 

This might be old, but regardless it still works every time, like they say old is gold.

Hibiki, who was in her room, finally couldn’t help it. She buried her face beneath the pillow, she can’t believe that guy, he’s too direct! This is the first time someone was making a move on her, and what's worse, he's someone straightforward!

“An-anyway, since you're not making a topic, I’ll make one instead!” 

Junichi realized that Hibiki was avoiding the previous topic, but he didn’t think too deeply about it, since he wasn’t going to rush this one, he only did this because he saw a chance to say it. That's why he spared no effort to say those words.

Then both of them continued talking for an entire hour with the topic that Hibiki made.

After the call ended, Junichi couldn’t help but say. “What the...I didn’t expect to get a scheduled date with her!”

He swears that he did not flirt with her this time! Their conversation leads toward the new movie next week, and then suddenly Hibiki invites him to go with her, he doesn’t know if she said it by accident or not, but who cares!

“My progress with her is faster than expected, you’ll never know the future..” 

His stomach suddenly made a sound, he was hungry so he went downstairs to eat dinner, after the dinner he became sleepy, he went directly to his bed and fell asleep.

Morning,

It was a new week, it was school time again, today he looks forward to what events he’s going to encounter, while on their way to school, he was checking his novel and he was surprised by what he saw.

Once again, his novel had exceeded his expectation it’s popularity skyrocketed overnight! Yesterday it was just 30k views and now it is almost a million views! He never expected it to become popular this fast, he only uploaded this novel yesterday!

Then he noticed that the platform itself gave him a message and naturally he checked it. After he did, honestly at this point, he wasn’t surprised anymore.

It was a goddamn contract for publishing his novel to LN! He knows that it would eventually become an LN, but damn what kind of speed is this? He literally just wrote this novel yesterday as an unknown author, now the platform gave him a contract to make his novel and LN.

He thought. ‘Alright, maybe I should quit my part-time job today.’

He was seriously considering it, honestly, he had a valid reason to quit, he got his shit beaten up in that very place, he could put this on his resignation letter. 

“I have trauma in this place, so I quit. “

Even though it sounded plain and direct, it would still be accepted and they can’t do anything about it. A traumatized person would only be a burden to the job.

It’s better to let that traumatized person go rather than making them stay since they would only cause problems.

Finally, both Miya and Junichi arrived at the school gate, before they parted their ways, Miya didn’t forget to say. “Later Nii-nii!”

“Yeah, you too Miya.” 

After that, they parted and went to their respective classrooms.

He was greeted by his best friend, Umehara.

“Oh! You’re finally here captain!” He approached him, and he hung his arms toward Junichi’s shoulders.

“Yeah, good morning.” 

“Good morning too, Hey captain don’t try to lie, because I know something happened between you and Tanamachi!” 

“Yeah, you’re right, something did happen to us, and it’s definitely not what you're thinking.”

“Eh? Then what is it then?”

“That’s for you to find out.”

“Hey, that's not fair! Tell me, captain!” 

“Shut up! I definitely won’t help you next time with your crush!”

Saying that made Umehara instantly stop, 

“Ha-ha, I was just joking! Look at the time! It’s almost time for the class to start! Later boss!” Umehara quickly made an excuse and went toward his table.

Junichi went to his table after that, on his way, he met Kaoru who was looking at him with a sweet smile.

“Good morning Junichi.”

“Good morning, did you miss me?” Junichi said with a grin.

“Miss you? Hahaha no way!” 

Then she approached him and whispered.

“I do.”

Kaoru went back to her table after that, Junichi couldn’t help but look at her with surprise.

“Wow, she became bold huh…”
