Chapter 45 : Where Is Meru?

A few days after the date, both of their relationship went to another step once again, they became more intimate with each other, for they are acting similar to a sweet couple, Kobayashi even suspected that they were going out with each other, but of course both of them ignored them.

After knowing that, Kobayashi was still suspicious, because even though they denied it, they acted like one! Honestly it was a huge blow for a single dog like her, it was too painful to see them flirting with each other, because of this she was determined to drink more than usual.

While Kanna was still the same as ever, she really doesn't care about the change, for her Tohru is Tohru and Kyle is Kyle nothing changed as they are both a family to her, she couldn't understand love yet because she's still young at least mentally.

In the future she would eventually understand it, but definitely not right now.

As usual Kyle went to school, the lessons are repeating these days but it was totally normal as it's almost time for the first semester exam.

However there is difference than before, Kyōka would always start a conversation first with him, he doesn't see it as harm so he decided to talk back, he didn't get bored talking with her she was surprisingly a good talker, it's just she wouldn't bother talking to someone she didn't have an interest with.

But definitely this is unusual, she wouldn't normally act like this, he wasn't dense he could definitely tell that Kyōka is hinting about relationship related things, it wasn't that hard to figure after all from time to she had been asking about his relationship status but of course he tried his best to ignore that, but there would be some time that he would answer occasionally.

And the point is he is currently not in a relationship, but he added that he is seeing someone currently which is Tohru, however despite saying that Kyōka didn't care as long as he isn't in a relationship everything was fine.

Kyle also noticed that he couldn't see Meru anywhere in school, of course he tried texting her in Line but she wouldn't just reply, it was like she's avoiding him?

This made his guess clear, he thought. 'Meru likes me? But I can't tell which part of me did she fall in love with? It shouldn't be at that time right? When broke her record undefeated in games?'

Other than that he couldn't come up with anything, he wouldn't know if he doesn't take action so he decided to visit her tonight after his shift ended.

"Heh, if she wanted to avoid me she should have done better, after all I have a card to her house.. I didn't think that I would have to use this tonight. I thought it wouldn't have a chance to use it."

If you ask why would he be so sure that Meru is currently in her apartment? Simple a gamer definitely wouldn't leave their haven no matter what.

The last subject ended, he immediately approached the exit of his classroom, however before he could even step outside the door, a familiar figure was blocking his way, he frowned and asked. "What are you doing here?"

"I've come to see you!"

"Nope, go back."

"Please! I'm asking you once again please be my master!"

"No, is no can't you understand that simple word?"

It was Ayane, it's been a few days since she kept bugging him to be her master, he doesn't have time to teach her, since his schedule was tight for today.

However she was extremely stubborn. "Please I'm begging you master!"

".....Sigh* your pretty stubborn huh...fine."

Ayane smiled brightly as she heard his answer. "Really?! Then-"

"Wait, I didn't say that you would immediately become my disciple. First you have to pass my test if you can't pass it then forget it."

"No, please! Tell me what it is and I will definitely pass your test!" She answered with determination.

He smiled cunningly as he heard her answer, he replied. "Then, starting from now you have to do 100,000 push ups without stopping if you can't do it then-"

"No I'll definitely do it! But can I do it in a specific place? Because I don't want to do it in a random place."

He nodded. "Sure go on."

"Then! I'll be sure to pass your test then see you master!" Ayane left him and went to an unknown location.

After getting rid of her, Kyle nodded in satisfaction. "Now, she wouldn't bother me for a while, 100,000 push ups? Hah there is no way she could complete it without stopping, she would sure to give up mid-way."

Shaking his head, he left school and started his shift or let's just call it his hobby because he wasn't really into money now that he is rich.

He went straight to the MgRonald, and immediately started his shift for today, after a few dozen rounds of delivering, his shift ended.

Kyle left the shop after saying goodbye to Chiho and Sadao, he didn't hesitate to drive his motorcycle toward Meru's apartment.

At the building where Meru's apartment is, he arrived within just a few minutes after arriving he immediately used the elevator, as he got inside he pressed the button to the highest floor.

It only took a full minute to arrive, since the elevator here is more advanced and it's naturally faster.

69th floor, Meru's apartment Kyle was already outside the door and all he needed to do is use the card to open the door...but he would rather not, he'll use it if Meru doesn't let him.

Inside Meru's apartment,

Meru was playing a fighting game with a bored expression, if someone familiar with her would see this they would be no doubt surprised, after all for all her life she enjoys gaming so much to the point that it's a part of her life.

But today, she felt bored as she played the game that she loved, she couldn't understand it herself. She wasn't like this. She tried to motivate herself but she failed for the first time in her life she found games as boring.

She couldn't concentrate, and her character movements were dull, unlike the past where her movement was godly, she thought herself. 'Why am I doing this? Why exactly am I avoiding him? But...if I see him my heart would ache.'

The light of her eyes slowly faded away, and replaced by an emptiness her worldview changed and everything suddenly turned black and gray.

'No..what am I exactly doing..? No I must change back...no no... please someone help.' Unknowingly tears fell in her eyes, and at the same time someone rang the doorbell.

"Huh? Who is it? I didn't order anything though?" Because of this, her eyes regained some light, she sigh in relief whoever pressed the doorbell, she was grateful or else she would've been in a completely hopeless situation.

She unhurriedly stood up from the coach, she went and checked who it was outside her apartment and to her surprise it was the person that she had been avoiding!

Kyle?! Why is he here?!

Her heartbeat was beating loudly as she realized who it was outside, suddenly she heard him say. "Meru? Are you there- okay that was a stupid question forget it, hey I know you are there open the door."

'W-what should I do?!' She panicked at this moment, she felt like her IQ dropped by a several degrees she couldn't even think properly.

"Still not answering? I see..to bad then..I'll leave."

'H-huh? He's leaving?' She checked to see if he really did leave and he really did!

'Unbelievable!' She thought, but suddenly the door opened without her unlocking it.

"Eh? W-what's happening?" She suddenly remembered that she gave Kyle a spare card to open her apartment!

The door slowly opened, a tall figure was outside looking at her with a dead fish's eyes. "You little... you're avoiding me huh?"

For some reason, she's excited yet afraid at the same time, she shutters. "N-no way! I didn't, I-it's umm...break? Y-yes! I'm taking a break from school!"

".....Are you taking me for a fool? It's almost exam yet you're taking a break? If you have a better excuse than it, I might believe it."

"U-ummm...err….N-no..?" She couldn't think of an excuse because she couldn't stay calm, to think the great Hatenko Meru would be reduced to a state like this?

Kyle finally approached her, she didn't dare to run, she let him grab her hand. She didn't know what he would do to her, but she was prepared.

Suddenly he started sniffing her, it would be a lie if she wasn't embarrassed.

"Meru…..you smell! You haven't taken a bath since a few days ago right?!"

"KYAAAAHHH!! Don't touch me! Get away!" She meant it on a different way, she doesn't want him to smell more of her, because she might die out of embarrassment!

"Why are you shouting?! I'm going to drag you into the bathroom!"

"No! No! I can do it myself! Kyle?! Kyle?!!! Noooo!!"

In the end Kyle didn't listen and he continued to drag her to the bathroom.
