It's pages like these that make me sit back and think, "man... this is a fun cast of characters to write." We're both really happy with how this one came out.

Spent a couple days this week playing Sonic x Shadow Generations. The original Sonic Generations was already one of my top Sonic games just from how good its level design was back then, but wow... Shadow Generations really just blows it out of the water. As a long-time Sonic fan, it feels so weird to have a new game that's just... good. Not good as in good*, but just actually a really solid game on all fronts. The worst thing you can say about it is that there's not enough, and I agree. I really hope they build from this in the next Sonic game. Continue on from this design philosophy and really let Ian Flynn take control of the story. I'm really excited to see what's next after this.

But that's all for today! See you on Sunday!

*good as in still kind of bad but at least there's a solid effort and some unique ideas on display. Basically something like Sonic Frontiers.

Considering that the Bloodborne soundtrack was recorded in a church, this is completely normal

Yeah, so it's a cultural thing. Interesting. Yes, I can assure you that the aforementioned Paradiso has had bands and performances at least as explicit as the Rock Cocks and I guess it's another example of the different approach to religion and religion institutions between US and Europe.

Honestly, I think it comes down to a) a lot of the folks in this group are queer and (at least in America) churches aren't guaranteed safe spaces, especially in the deep south. Just going into a church brings back a lot of trauma and painful memories for lots of us queer folk in the US. And b) what the rock cocks are as a band would be considered rather.... Unpure... And unfit for a typical church in the US. I can't speak for other countries but I know in the US it's VERY unlikely to see a band of almost nude folks singing about sex and rock n roll, which the church in the US considered to be "of the devil" back in the day!

Is this an American thing to wondet about performing in a church? Fascinating. In Europe a significant amount of concert venues are former churches, most famous example probably Amsterdam's Paradiso. But even still functioning churches get rented out ad concert venues all the time, I saw Midge Ure from church pews in London a few years back. Nobody batted an eye about going to a church building.

Can't fault that logicnπŸ˜†

Lately even cults got tax deductions, because choosing what groups get deductions and what don't violated the establishment clause of the 1st Amendment. Even the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster gets tax exemptions.

Love the banter of this scene. Ya'll are so great at writing dialogue!

Okay that last line had me chuckling. LOL

Being able to just write easy but fun dialogue is always a treat, really lets you play with your characters and their relationship dynamics. Like clover jiving with seth about organized religion. They don't have much in common, but they are both imminently practical people with very unclouded views about the interplay between the church and commerce.
