TUTORIAL// Creating a comic page

Sooo I decided to put together a tutorial on creating comics! 💜

I’ve been making comics pretty much every single day for two years, and this process has changed a lot since I started. While the approach I’m sharing works well for me, it’s important to remember that there’s no single "right" way to make comics! There’s always room for improvement and personal adaptation. For me, there’s definitely a lot I still need to improve. 😮‍💨

This tutorial covers the overall process without diving into extreme detail for each step. If you find it helpful or if there's a specific aspect you’d like more information on, please let me know!

Here’s the link to the Corris Procreate Pack I mentioned. It’s free and full of awesome brushes! https://ko-fi.com/s/f6c6cf5dd3

The “Funny Inker” brush I got from another artist’s Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/viria), so unfortunately I’m not allowed to share it! You can always sub to her Patreon, though, if you want access to it.

To create better references for the characters's poses, I use the free version of Magic Poser (https://magicposer.com/).

I always feel like I’m not really fit to be teaching others anything when I myself have an entire world of art to learn, but back when I was starting, it was a tutorial similar to this that really helped me, so hopefully this can be helpful to some of you as well! 🙇‍♀️

I honestly forget to name or even group them! I should really give it a try sometime xD And I usually create color palettes for individual scenes on the comics, but I tend to just delete those palettes later when I won’t use them again (most likely)! All in all I’m not the most organized person when it comes to my files 🥲

I noticed you don’t seem to label or group your layers much. I find it helpful to keep track of what is on each layer and edit multiple ones simultaneously if I have to. Idk if you do this already but color presets are helpful, especially for drawing the same characters over and over. I would always make a long list of hex codes labeled with what they were for, but there’s probably a way to save color swatches and customize their labels. Your colors look great though, the general art style is very pretty.

That's so sweet of you. Thank you! ❤️
