Update on Font of Fertility

Hey folks!

Just wanted to keep you all updated on how things are progressing. There will be a Tuesday Update this week with more broader details and updates, but for specifically Font of Fertility:

Chapters 31-33 BETA and Chapters 34-36 ALPHA have now been re-posted and are accessible to the proper Patron tiers again. I am now starting on a Chapter (37), which will release ASAP along with Chapter 34 Beta.

As I've mentioned before, the edits to FoF were a preemptive move because of continuing Patreon ToS checks - FoF never got flagged for anything, but it was in enough of a grey area that I didn't want to risk this platform and community suddenly getting ripped out from under us.

Stacey and Lindsey were the two characters throwing the the story into the 'grey zone' even after my early-2023 revisions. Here are my current notes for the two characters, and how you can expect them to be written moving forward.

STACEY WILDE: Is still the goddaughter of Jerry’s parents, but her parents passed away shortly after she graduated from high school instead of earlier in life. Since her only other family lived across the country, the Grants took her in for the summer and she has an open invitation to visit whenever she needs or wants, especially for holidays. She is in her sophomore year at Cardinal, two years older than Jerry and Lauren, one year younger than Lindsey and Angie

LINDSEY PARKER: Is now the longtime next-door neighbour of the Baxleys. She grew up in a single-parent household for most of her life (just an absentee, workaholic father) and had to mature quickly to take care of herself. The Baxleys, worried about her, gave her a job babysitting Lauren and used that to be able to check in on her and give her a sense of responsibility. While she was in high school her father started travelling even more for work, relying on the Baxleys to check in on her even more. This led to a slight abandonment issue for Lindsey, developing into her rebellious and experimental streak in her later years of high school while still maintaining her grades. She hasn’t seen her father since the week after her high school graduation when he moved to the EU for a new job in finance. The Baxleys, horrified at her being pretty much abandoned to her own devices with no guidance other than a monthly allowance, took her in until she went off to college and make sure to invite her back for every holiday.

The Plan Moving Forward

Other than continuing the story, from this point on I will be taking time between other releases to go back and edit the old chapters, starting from the earliest and moving forward. I'll release them here on Patreon in new bundles. When they are done I will likely push the new versions to Literotica as well.

How I Feel About the Changes

It needed to happen. Not just for ToS purposes, but because if I ever get to a point where I want to convert FoF into a publishable story to reach the eBook reader market, these same changes would need to be made anyways. Do I wish the story was still the same as it was when I first started it back in 2015? Maybe, sometimes. But I also don't miss it. Taboo content like that has it's ups and downs, but looking back at some of the decisions I made it wasn't because the characters HAD to be who they were, it was because I was pandering to the large Literotica readerbase and because those are easy relationships to write about while keeping tension in the story. Lauren/Lindsey and Jerry/Stacey are only going to get more complicated, and more fun to write as I find better ways to put realistic tension into the early chapters of the story.

That's all for now, I'm off to actually WRITE some FoF instead of editing!

Cheers,
~Break.

Right?! That's how I found FoF and loved how it started Patreon is a horrible platform not allowing it's creators to write what they want. That's why a few of the authors have gone to other services to be able to keep the taboo the readers like. One's on Podia and has a taboo version of a series a love and a non taboo version, of course one is much more lived than the other. I just hope FoF will become a primary story again, it's been forever since the last chapter came out, sucks.

Those are great backstories that you can dig into for more complications and issues, I am going to have to do a full reread when you get all the old chapters out. Also, for some reason, the changes in FoF throw me off less than the Mr. Boss moniker in OFG.

Now that is some great timing!

Sad but necessary changes, I suppose. This was the first really good series I found on Lit, and truly enjoyed it. I'll have to go back and reread it once you have the changes made. It was great stumbling across it. I might not have found all the other great series you've done here and on Lit. Thanks for your work!

No worries man... I stumbled on FoF during the pandemic and figured it would be another one of those amazing stories that got abandoned since it hadn't been updated since 2015. The new backstory makes sense and, if I hadn't read the original storyline so much I could practically recite it from memory, it doesn't detract at all. Ill likely be confused for a bit as I try to adjust when the new chapters are released, but hey, that just means I have to read the whole thing over again once the new edits are in place. The crosses we bear...😉

All your hard work is much appreciated Mr. Break. Thank you for sharing an update and keep up the good work!

Stay safe and well

I guess I've just never thought of it that way, thanks for the additional pov

you can be absentee and still live under the same roof. I speak from experience. My mother would disappear for weeks at a time only popping in every few days to drop off some money for food.

TheEvilSmurf42

Did you mean absentee mother? You put absentee father and then stated her father moved away for work

Thanks for the update

Honestly, I'm probably still going to mentally "correct" the relationships to the ones I first read on Literotica when I discovered FoF as I read new chapters going forward, but I certainly can't begrudge the change. If it means that the story is at less risk of being flagged and gives you the freedom to do more with it later on, that's an unequivocal good thing. And, hey, great timing. I joined your Patreon based on discovering FoF on Literotica, and just finished chapter 30 there this evening, right on time for you to bring back the next alpha and beta chapters here. Hurray!

Awesome! I'm excited to read the next chapters. Keep up the good work break. But don't work you're self to hard.
