Poll: ToS Fixing, Which One First?
Added 2024-10-25 20:02:40 +0000 UTCEDIT: Seeing as OFG had a slight lead on FoF, but not with a majority seeking a full conversion, I spent the day and evening (and night) getting all 600 of the current chapters 'fixed' and they are now live again, but still in 2nd Person. They will undergo a more thorough editing process when we reach a natural pause point in the story.
FoF will take a bit more work, it will likely remain offline into this coming week as I get a bit of new content out before I invest time into rewriting the portions that need rewriting.
Alright folks,
As per my update earlier today, I had to take down OFG and FoF to make sure I got them in line with update, more specific Patreon ToS elements. They are both going to need an editing pass to fix things, and if I'm doing that then there are some other things I can clean up at the same time.
So, which should I work on first?

FoF will need some more work, but the core story will stay the same, just a couple of backstories/relationships pre-story will need to change.

It isn’t clear what part offends Patreon, so I can’t estimate the impact accurately, so I think BtB is really the best one to gauge that part. Also, it boils down to BtB’s ability to reimagine the story and generate the enthusiasm to re-write it. I think he’s pretty imaginative and easily up to the task. And there is the money part…

2024-10-26 03:51:12 +0000 UTCAs FlareNight pointed out, replacing all of the "D" nickname would also require modifying a good chunk of the scenes where it appears. It would also require renaming the fan Twitter account, and maybe changing some of the OF scenes that the characters did (not sure though, it's been a while since I read them). There's also the question of what the replacement term would be. IMO it should be something kind of silly so John is annoyed by it, but something with a vague authority connotation to it to keep the spirit of Sabrina using it during their OF scenes. The "D" nickname was kind of perfect for it, and I can't think of another replacement off the top of my head. Maybe "Boss" or "Sir" or something? Those kind of lose the playfulness of it unfortunately... I think that my vote would be for "Sir" since it might be able to be played off as kind of tongue-in-cheek from the ladies but I dunno :(

For either of these, too, you don’t necessarily need to immediately republish anything already available on Literotica. No links, I understand, but we can all Google.

2024-10-25 22:39:33 +0000 UTCThat was my first thought, but the term is a minor plot point in several places and trying to replace it with something that doesn't require rewriting quite a few scenes to make sense would probably not work. At that point, might as well do the POV change too (if that's something that's inevitable at some point) since it would be way easier to do both at once.

Now I'm thinking you need to deal with FoF, not because I like the story in spite of the taboo, but because this is going to continue to dog you until you do so. Yes, you'll probably have to re-write it as two sets of neighbors rather than two sets of young relatives. Or maybe Stacey and her mom moved into Jeremiah's home rather than Stacey being adopted or a neighbor. But once you make those decisions and commit to it, you can use your skills and experience to not only alter but improve the story. Good Luck!

2024-10-25 20:43:18 +0000 UTCOFG conversion by my thinking would probably be the far easier of the two to get ToS compliant, find replace the offending word with the substitute word and it likely solves the issues? Font seems like it might require significant rewrite because of two of the characters to get compliant.

To a degree that's something I'm worried may happen with AMA/Model Behavior, because the initial cast was large but contained - I'm worried sequel territory may explode the dynamic. It's a problem I've seen with other harem -you forget who people are. It's one of the problems I have with the original QT series, by Corrupting Power - I don't remember who half of Andy's friends are, much less his Team!

2024-10-25 20:12:41 +0000 UTCFoF is much better - I never really got into OFG - but I'd urge you to think about developing multiple income streams so that you don't have to censor so much. There are other sites that are not so puritan, and of course it's very easy to have your own website and payment processing as well! Will the uncensored version be available anywhere?

If FoF got pushed a bit further along into the story I think more would probably get into it. But how would OFG 1st Person read? How will the perspectives of the other characters be involved? Do you think writing it in FP would benefit the story?
