June 2024 Update
Added 2024-06-09 03:27:31 +0000 UTCStress! But the good kind, I guess!?
Hey folks. I hope your June's have been treating you well so far - I intended this update to come out sometime in the mid-week but the above-mentioned 'good stress' has kept me busy.
I'm moving! As in, I'm in the midst of my move. The nice part is that I'm moving within the same town, and I have time to slowly move stuff over to the new place bit by bit instead of stressing with getting it all done immediately. The bad part is that it's Mentally easier to just get it all done, so at the moment my life is strung out between two locations as I try to keep up with a bunch of stuff. Once I'm fully moved and settled into my new little office space I'm hoping I'll be back to being more productive when I'm sitting down to write.
Looking Back at May
May was... not great in terms of production. Lots of pre-move stuff, some family stuff - eugh. I'm happy with what GOT written, but not with the amount. We did finish off the Psych-Sex-Ed story for CHYOA and we're still waiting on the results of that contest, and the Sponsor stories were fun to dive into. Unfortunately I was (as you can see from the last week) late on posting OFG and didn't even get to FoF/QTNW. Like I said, we need to get some things back on track!
What's Happening This Month on Patreon
The last couple of months I thought I was being fairly reasonable about the timelines I was trying to hit, but they didn't work out due to Life. This month I'm going to be as conservative as I can be so I'm not over promising.
Priority 1: A quick Le Francais update
Priority 2: FoF x2
Priority 3: Half of the Sponsor-tier chapters
Priority 4: Half of June OFG
Priority 5: QTNW x2
Priority 6: Other Half of Sponsor-tier chapters
Priority 7: Other Half of June OFG
OK, so maybe that's not very conservative at all now that I look at it. It's about 95k words of content (yikes) to write in... 22 days. Which technically only amounts to 4,318 words/day, which I know I can accomplish if I can lock in my brain for writing time.
We'll see how it goes!
Personal Update
Other than the move, some folks read it in my comments early in the week but I also had a family cat pass away last weekend. She was a good kitty, and will be missed. As I mentioned then; writing sexy scenes is a LITTLE DIFFICULT when dealing with sick cat, grieving parent, upset sister 2 hours away, digging a grave hole in said parent's backyard, etc. I'm honestly surprised I got the content out that I did.
I'm fine, family is fine, it'll just be a little while until a new pet comes on the scene. I'm debating between a large breed dog or a large breed cat for the new place once I'm settled in.
On the Keto/Weight Loss journey, other than the Moving of Things I haven't been doing other exercise BUT the Keto diet has been working. I'm down 20 pounds in about 5 weeks, adherence to the diet is going strong, and I've discovered making protein-rich potato chip substitutes by baking shredded Parmesan cheese. (1tsp piles, flattened, 350 degrees for 12 min on a parchment covered pan; use shredded not powdered.)
That's all for now folks!
Cheers,
~Break.

Thank you for the dinner suggestion.

2024-06-18 06:35:46 +0000 UTCBeing on a Keto diet gets easier. I ha e been on keto for 5 years (some periods of less stringent) I am attempting hard core now. Several triggers that I have to avoid. Carbonated drinks and alcohol. Even though spirits like bourbon on rock is acceptable. I gain weight when I am off wagon.
BAK
2024-06-16 07:10:44 +0000 UTCAngelic Bakehouse, but there a lot more out there now. Look at both total and net carbs. Some are playing games with added fiber. Taste and texture is what counts.

2024-06-11 00:33:17 +0000 UTCSometimes, especially for toast. There are some really low carb bakeries that I order (and freeze) for a treat. Most of the “bread” substitutes are ok, just not really bread.

2024-06-10 23:52:34 +0000 UTCWHEN you plateau, be patient while your body adjusts. You WILL start losing again. I’ve been keto since late Dec 2017 and lost 100+ lbs in about 14 months. Stalled for about 3 months at 9 or 10 months in but kept with it because of the other health benefits and mental clarity.

2024-06-09 23:49:59 +0000 UTCLooking forward to it! Love all the work you do, but QT:NW and AMA are definitely the ones I get the most excited about ^^

2024-06-09 17:51:44 +0000 UTCI've found hard cheeses work best, and I like to put a little oregano sprinkled on top for an extra flavour. 12min at 350 degrees in my current oven seems to do the trick for the 1tsp piles I make. The key is to make sure they are fairly flattened out so that you don't have softer stuff in the middle.

2024-06-09 16:58:50 +0000 UTCThank you! I'm thinking AMA will likely start back up in August; once my move is finished and I can feel caught up on things I can start putting in the time for proper planning.

2024-06-09 16:56:21 +0000 UTCI'm fully expecting progress to slow down at some point, and I'm not looking forward to it. I'm hoping I can get another 25-ish pounds in good time before it happens so that I'm in the ballpark of what I was down to prior to losing my previous progress before I started sitting on my butt and writing for a living.

2024-06-09 16:54:09 +0000 UTCYeah, just dump a thin, overlapping pile of any cheese on an oven sheet. Cooking times vary by fat content (softer takes a lot less time). Strongly recommend using parchment paper. Pull it out, let it cool. Cheese wafer, similar to a chip. There's plenty of videos showing it step by step, with times and temperatures.

2024-06-09 13:43:43 +0000 UTCBig life events will always throw things off kilter, and there's a fair bit of understanding and empathy available for when it happens. Take the time you need and don't burn yourself out pushing for too much during this hectic period in your life. As a sidenote though, is there a rough timeframe for when AMA will kick back up again?

2024-06-09 12:28:30 +0000 UTCPersonally i think you have done well last month :) We would ofc always want more and juicier stories (we are just humans after all) BUT we understand that life gets in the way sometimes (and your just a human after all :) ). Besides it's always nice to have something to look forward to (just not to far away lol)

2024-06-09 07:32:28 +0000 UTCExplain this Parmesan cheese to potato chip thing please. Is it just grated Parmesan?

2024-06-09 06:53:33 +0000 UTCIn my experience, moving is like a half-time job. With extra stress on top of it. I'm sure things will be better once the big parts are done.

2024-06-09 05:55:12 +0000 UTC20 pounds in 5 weeks is crazy progress, keep up the good work man! I’m struggling with that journey, it’s been about 10 pounds in 2 months but progress is progress. i hope you enjoy your journey as much as the destination when you get there.

2024-06-09 05:47:32 +0000 UTCTried them and pork rinds don't do it for me as a snack. Too much greasey blegh. Then again, maybe I just had cheap pork rinds, I dunno. I DO know I want to try making chicken finger breading out of them though.

2024-06-09 05:40:01 +0000 UTCYou can make keto-friendly bread if you are a sandwich fiend like me. It's not terribly difficult, either! Pork rinds are a good substitute for chips, if you like them. They're a taste I never quite acquired during my Keto diet. Good luck, and don't give in to the cravings! They will go away!
