I'm busy working on finishing up an overdue commission before I get started on Sponsor Week on Monday, but I got an announcement from over on CHYOA - the site where my stories like AMA and OFG started out. They are having a 10 Year Anniversary writing contest, and the prize is having a story 'of your choice' featured on their front page for a year.
Well, let me tell you, CHYOA might not be as popular as some other sites, but that could drive a lot of traffic to my stories, or here to the Patreon. I think it's kind of a no-brainer that I need to submit something; the catch is that it needs to be original, and it needs to be 'spicy.' (Seriously, that's all they required.)
There will apparently be a Judges Panel, but I don't know who will be on it so I can't really tailor a story to the judges.
My first instinct was to use the Untitled D&D Group story for this, but I don't know if it moves fast enough for what they are looking for. Based on context clues they are more looking for 'sexy scenes' than full blown series, so fairly short stories that get hot and heavy.
If anyone has General Themes or Common Tropes or concepts I might turn on their head or twist around, feel free to suggest them below! Just make sure any suggestion fits into the Patreon ToS; so no incest/underage/etc.

EDIT: Based on a couple of questions I asked in their FAQ, they have clarified up to 3 submissions, and a hard cap of 15k words (and 7,500 seems to be the sweet spot.) I also cannot use something I've posted elsewhere before.

2024-04-20 04:40:12 +0000 UTCIt's never good to entice readers through something different than the actual product. I'm not quite sure what Patreon's rules are, but given that they actually removed CHYOA, trying to draw people in through the rule gap would be more dangerous than normal.

This is interesting, but I'm not sure if folks would be a fan of Erica, or one of the other relationship members from a story, getting into sexual hijinks with someone other than their love interest from their stories. Might be risky even if it would be a good exercise.

2024-04-20 04:09:22 +0000 UTCI get the thinking behind this for sure. The core issue is that I don't want to set up anyone to EXPECT content from me that isn't Patreon ToS. There are categories, especially on Literotica, that would get a lot more eyeballs on my work short-term but wouldn't necessarily transfer into long term fans.

2024-04-20 04:08:48 +0000 UTCIf the only requirement is that it wasn't published before, it might make sense to take a minor character that you already "know " from one of your existing stories and write a vignette about one of their encounters. I'm thinking Erica of QTNW, pre-outbreak. Then, she's just a character (no need to explain any of the wider context), and between the tattoo shop and the adult store, there has to be "something" that happens... But I'd pick a character you already "know" and not reinvent the wheel on this one.

2024-04-14 20:29:40 +0000 UTCBased on the prompt examples and FAQ, they are primarily looking for Male MC, multiple females. Which is definitely in your wheelhouse. Other things called out you may want to include: someone exploring their previously repressed sexuality, public nudity/ embarrassment, brat taming, age/authority play, MILFs, inter-female drama, a game or bet structure. Also, since it has a 7500 word sweet spot and 15000 word hard limit, it will have to move pretty fast to get a full ark in. You may want to consider using celebrities or public figures to skip having to develop their characters. Lastly, you can put in 3 submissions. That gives you the options for submitting a story that just hits all the kinks with less depth than you would normally like and another that is a more standard BtB level of character development. Let us know when you post it on CHOYA as they did say engagement will be a consideration. Actually, you may just want to put a link here instead of the story until the contest is over. Good luck and I can't wait to read what you put out.

Maybe have the dice be the CYOA decisions and if the rolls favors what the character wants to See based on the story. Low being what the DM wants to see. Say one character is a lesbian, Character B is in to humiliation of males C is into Sissy. the DM is in to Maledom. (just examples off the top of my head) All decisions will lead to a sexual activity of some kind. The story will continue and the choices will effect what the player of the CYOA sees and ending or future choices. This is kinda what your story is going for without the buildup. Also allowing you to add different fetishes for the different characters.

2024-04-14 06:31:58 +0000 UTCMy suggestion, and it's just a thought, but if the goal is to have your name on CHYOA and drive traffic over to Patreon, why not just write a story for CHYOA and not put it on Patreon, and then you wouldn't need to follow the Patreon limitations? That would free you up to write some really good stuff off of Patreon that couldn't go on Patreon.
