My modeling workflow for creating 3D prints

Hey folks,

I thought I'd share how I use DESIGN MAGIC and KIT OPS to create 3D printable designs. In particular you might  find some interesting way to accurately work inside of Blender. I'm including the files, both the Blender file and the Template file. Holler at me if you have any questions.

(Note, there is some overdubbed voices which I'm in the process of correcting and will update the video link when it's finished).

Thank you so much! I actually need to do a lot of 3D print work at my place of work.

Wow. That sounds incredible. Yeah, I know that there are definitely differences between the two. The free SendtoUE plugin works great for updating a model as you work on it in Blender but creating a model in Blender that doesn't raise a lot of error messages when importing into Unreal seems much more difficult than it should be. What you are trying to do with shaders seems that much more ambitious.

Thanks for the feedback. We are working on a script to convert non UV map materials from blender to try planner materials in unreal. Unfortunately, it's taking longer than expected for the script but I do have materials lined up so that they work in both blender and unreal. As you probably know, both engines have different shaders so giving them to work together is tricky.

I think it's great that you are showing examples of how to take objects modeled using KITOPS and Blender and using them somewhere else. In this case 3D printable designs. Would love to see something similar for objects modeled using KIT OPS and then preparing those models for use in Unreal Engine.
