Three new materials for you

Hey guys, this will give you an update on some of things I've been working on. Here are three new materials that you might find valuable and eventually they will appear in the different material libraries but you guys get first crack.

These are all unique in their own way and if you watch the video you'll understand how to use them. And speaking of understanding materials, one of the great beneficial parts of KIT OPS is you can store all kinds of materials independent of their node structure.

And, as many of you know, there are many material add-ons that use basically the same node structure and provide you sliders for adjusting each of those nodes. This limits what can be done as far as the overall complexity of the materials.

So for instance, you would use a completely different node set up for something like glass than you would for something like plastic. And the same is true for something like wood versus plastic as wood has a very identifiable repeat pattern whereas plastic does not. And furthermore, trying to create car paint textures with flakes of metal in them becomes almost impossible to build in a generic notde material set up.

God help you if you're have to go into the actual node graphs and figure out what's going on. One of the reasons why I prefer working in node groups and having default values for them. You can always dig in deeper if you want to see what's going on but you can also just use the simplified node groups to help you create your custom materials. And, not to mention, that some nodes depend on photographic textures, others depend on tileable textures, others depend on procedural textures, and others depend on lots of math nodes. And, you can use any or all of those various techniques to create your materials and store them in KIT OPS.

And of course, I always try my best to provide the most efficient and realistic material possible without breaking the GPU memory bank.

As before, just place these .blend INSERT files and their thumbnails in any existing KPACKS and refresh to get them to show.
