Reverse tiling using Triplanar material
Added 2022-11-03 16:40:59 +0000 UTCHey guys, here's a really quick tutorial on how to take scans from your phone or pictures online that are not easily tileabale and use them effectively in Blender. White rooster on my discord was posting some really interesting images he took with his smart phone and there was a discussion about how to make these tolerable and most of them would be pretty much impossible because the repeating texture would be too strong.
But, by reverse tiling where you invert the X and Y coordinates for every other tile you can realize a bit higher level of resolution with no discernible tiling unless you scale it to the extreme.
I've included the material below and it comes also in the EEVEE + Cycles Material System. Just load them into any KPACK.
