Why only 1 or 8 segments on a bevel modifier?
Added 2021-12-04 09:12:52 +0000 UTCAnother set of questions asked about why I recommend using either 1 or 8 (or greater) on a bevel modifier. It has to do with normal smoothing and possible artifacts. Hopefully, this video explains it ok. And, on larger bevels, nothing wrong with going over 8, but I like to stay even because if you ever apply the modifier, there's a center edge in the middle of the bevel.
