New K-CyclesX out and...MAN one KILLER feature!

Hey guys, I have to tell you, I'm stoked about the new K-CyclesX Blender 3.0 Alpha version that just dropped-- and along with it a 25% discount (the first discount ever for K-Cycles I'm aware of)!

Not only is it ridiculously fast, (literally 500% faster!) with superior features and quality, but it now can do something I've wanted.. no NEEDED, for awhile. You see, for some time I haven't been able to use volumetrics in Cycles-- like I love to do with EEVEE. It's because the Cycles Denoiser screws it up so bad that it's virtually unusable (same with fine material textures).

But now, the developer of K-Cycles, Eric Klein, has a new built-in Ultra-Denoiser feature, which now makes it possible to render all sorts of volumetric effects! It's amazing and certainly worth checking out. And, if you're like me, and like rendering in Cycles, now's the time to get yourself a copy. Eric's continually adding new features and he also has super support. Here's a link to learn more.

New K-CyclesX out and...MAN one KILLER feature!

After 2 days I really shocked by how fast it is! Like 4K car scene in 10 seconds, I never think this is possible!!

Kwin K

It's not an addon. It's a whole new build of Blender.

Chipp Walters

Thanks for your recommendation. This add on can really change my workflow.

Kwin K

No, I don't think you are correct. Ian does use Blender for all that stuff. He's just an amazing ambassador for Blender. One good thing about having engineers shepherding Blender is that for the most part, it is pretty robust.

Chipp Walters

Its such a fetish thing.

Good morning. Yes I guess. I just always thought, or the feeling came across that this was going to be a little more "groundbreaking"?? Like you would be able to have a class of kids and let them get SOMEWHERE within this and a class of teenagers who you could introduce a level deeper but still have them not feel so completely overwealmed. I really thought that this is where this is going. It is clearly not. Yes. So. There will be some sort of dead end coming up I presume. Because it is all a little too half baked and people(hopefully) will be getting sick of "procedural"(barf!) or geometry nodes pointless 5 second loops SOON!

Asyouare

Yeah, I get you. In the past, I've designed some large award winning software including EIS and LMS and have focused on the end user experience for decades. And, that's the big issue with Blender. It's run by engineers, designed by engineers, and for engineers. They don't have any understanding of usability or user experience design. All they seem to want to do is keep adding half baked features on top of half baked features. Frankly, it's stunning but I guess that's what you get for free.

People are so hung up on somebody like Ian Hubert even though it is completely obvious that he does not user Blender for everything. The guy has clients, money to make. He is not going to trust the aspects of his projects to something that crashes on you so much. He is, certainly, not going to motion capture or track with something less powerful and more time consuming than he really has to. If you are dabbeling along, fine but if you actually have paying customers...why? Why would people think that?

Asyouare

I just wrote a very long reply to your post, iterating on how I absolutely get what you mean...then I f-ing brushed over my mouse, BANG, gone. Anyways....puh, the gist: Not to give you a compliment, just saying that besides kit-ops(if installed) there really is NO intuitive, immediate, dynmaic principle in Blender. Nothing. Nada. It is not young, not fresh, not anything. Hardly useable. Really. It would like to see you shoveling shit for decades and decades. Nobody can go back to vanilla after having installed a handfull of addons. That would be pure masochism. And they know it. Hell yeah. Of course. But who cares. No looking back at anything. They dabbled in useability but decided against it. Whatever. "quick physics" is really the only thing I can think of but then you have it and you still dont know why and how and where to go with this. "The chosen ones" oh yeah. Hell yeah. UDIMS are image sequences. Of course. Certainly. Who cares. I told this to masterxeon1001, there needs to be version of this software stripped of all the bullshit and just geared towards modeling. End of story. There are still bugs in this that go back several years by now, crashing bugs that they, likely think "its part of the personality" or something completely wack like that. Because it is so obvious.

Asyouare

bought it, it's pretty good, thank you for the discount

Now that I have been using it for a while...to me, more and more, Blender has become, is becoming, like a covered wagon on the range, on uneven ground, going off into the horizon, hoping and bouncing, with stuff falling off all the time and nobody ever looking back. One of these days, if Roosendaal ever does eject himself, which he will, one of the wheels(or all) are going to come off. I am certain. I cannot believe of what I have accepted before in terms of quality before I have seen this.

Try as hard as I might, the page always directs me to the german speaking website as I am currently living in switzerland. Sorry about that. Nothing special. But by todays standards of availability...quite the prize...

thank you for the heads up. Been looking at this addon since i heard about. The video helped me finally to buy it.

What's a 1660?

Chipp Walters

OK Chipp I am sold. I just purchased it and will install it. I have a render waiting for it so am anxious to try it out.

Danny Bouchard (Butch6414)

Yes. You where right. I was not happy with you on the Simple Concept thing, but this is pretty awesome! Just rerendered something I was never happy with and its a BIIIIIG difference. Finally as I imagined it. Must say, though, I use a 1660 super(yes I know, I am spoiled) and I cannot use any of the gpu accelerator functions or it crashes. And it does rev up the fans considerably. But the results are very, very, very, very good.

Asyouare

I will definitely consider giving it a try then! Thanks a lot!

Yannick Stahl

Well, before I would say probably not, but now with this Denoiser, it's pretty much a game changer. If you want to render fine textures or volumetrics in Cycles, then...yeah, it's probably a good idea. The speed won't be as big an issue (but it will be somewhat faster) but the Denoiser is definitely worth it.

Chipp Walters

Hey there Chipp! I mostly use Blender for Concept Art, i.e. I do paint over my renders anyways. But I was wondering, would it make sense for someone like me with an older 1080Ti to get something like K-Cycles or E-Cycles in order to improve my base render quality and speed or is my GPU a bottleneck anyways? Thanks

Yannick Stahl
