[POLL CANCELED] π VIDEO VERSIONS π
Added 2024-12-05 18:30:40 +0000 UTCHi everyone :)
I would like to know if it is really useful to offer you several versions of the videos as I do... The optimal quality is only available with the H265 10BITS [HIGH BITRATE] version and originally I made other versions to be sure that everyone can download the videos. However, this increases the encoding time enormously. I spend 180min of encoding for each video instead of spending 60-80min... It takes so much time because I have to encode a non-metronome version and a metronome version.
Ideally, I would like to stop offering you the 1080P versions as well as the H264 versions and only offer you the H265 10BITS HIGH BITRATE and LOW BITRATE versions. beacause the time I spend encoding I do not spend it advancing on other videos or funscripts...
For information, the HIGH BITRATE version is the version offering the best possible quality but is a little heavy, the LOW BITRATE version offers correct quality and is much lighter.
I would like your feedback to be sure not to prevent some people from accessing the videos.
What versions of videos do you want ?

Yes, indeed I had not taken that into account. Anyway I decided to continue to offer all versions so that everyone is happy. I will just encode the 4K and 1080P versions using the H265 10BITS version as a reference rather than encoding from the timeline which will save me time. This should not influence the quality of the video because H265 is clearly superior in terms of compression and you should not see any difference with my previous encoding method.

If necessary I will buy a small PC to render videos only in order to free up time.

2024-12-05 19:46:28 +0000 UTCTo be honest, I only most likely download the 1080p versions, especially if the video is long. I think 1080p is good enough, even if I have a 4k monitor.
