Unaware that Robin had already become one of their associates, Nami followed her to the lab only to be ambushed by Robin herself. There, Robin began using Nami as the test subject to her new ability. Using her enhanced devil fruit power, Robin sprouted parts of her brain inside Nami's head and started transmitting her own thought directly into Nami's mind. Nami tried her best to resist, but she was no match to Robin's willpower and soon her mind was crushed. This allowed Robin to completely take over Nami's thoughts and thus turning Nami into an extension of herself. Robin continue to explore the potential of her new ability and she soon realized that she could now add her body parts directly onto Nami herself. With a bit of practice, Robin was able to successfully turned Nami into an amalgamation with herself with began playing with her new body. After another hour had passed, Robin finally decided to returned Nami to normal, only to find that her thoughts and memories had been permanently mixed into Nami's mind, turning her into a loyal follower of the laboratory. Surprised but happy with this unexpected turn of event, Robin decided to teach Nami everything she knew about the lab and train Nami into becoming another associate like herself.
