I can see the appeal of wanting to show ~something~, but I don't think you should show EVERYTHING of the impact. Maybe a closeup of her arms, maybe a leg buckling, enough to let us know that it hit, and it did NOT go well for her... but nothing that shows the FULL extent of the damage. Giving us bits and pieces lets us share in the audience shock, like the whole scene has created a ringing in our ears, and we can't quite process what we've just seen. The full damage shot is best saved for what I assume is coming up in a page or two.

2024-08-30 15:01:07 +0000 UTCI don't know. I mean, all of the build-up was supposed to find its climax in Saki's 'sacrifice'. I think the punch had to be delivered harder to the reader. Once, Rick did this with a scene in the "Jungle Fever" Housepets! arc -but it worked because the whole scene was built in one page. One moment, Uncle Deadeye stops Jata's mighty punch. Then they look at each other, and Jata is visibly scared now. And then cut to birds flying away. Insert joke. And it worked just fine, it was dramatic and funny. Now? It's like something's amiss, emotion is not fully delivered. The best solution would've been seeing Saki's sacrifice reflected in Ideka's eye, making us feel the weight of her mistake together with her. Just my 2 cents. I'm going to crawl in my corner now...

On the other sometimes the next page can’t come soon enough :p Both these things are true Hopefully Ideka knows lots of healing magic too

Driving Ideka to hurt her (Saki) could really open Ideka up to what have I done remorse. While at the same time Saki's profession may have had her built up a tolerance for being hurt and able to recover.
